I had an interesting thought. Did God create good and evil? If he did then why did he create evil, he would have had a choice. If he didn't then good and evil would be a more powerful force than God because he is bound by them.
Any thoughts? |

well im not sure lol, now i could be wrong or i could talking about a whole nother religion lol im a new christian so im new to he beliefs, but i think when the devil was an angel for god and got jelous of his power he became just as strong (or almost) and then god created hell and sent satan and his fallen angels down there so he be king of his own little world, wich is why god say's that hell was'ent created for man. and thats how evil came about...i could be wrong though

My thoughts are that a lot of the time we as christians or maybe humans tend to over thing things of little or no consiquence.
I've indulged myself on this question more than once ,so I'll give my 2 cents worth God is pure good (holy if you will) He didn't create good He is good. When he created everything He gave some of his creation a choice, alternitives, the capibility to deside, free will (we call it). The nateral result of this is evil, which is the the disobediance to, rejection of and rebelion against the Holyness of God. Since Lucifer rebeled evil has been personified in the world. Since the Garden of Eden man kind has been under the enfluence of it. Evil was not created, but the by product of free will, both in heaven and on earth. Why would God allow such a thing to exist??? For love. . . For love to be love it must have the choice, the free will to deside, the freedom to accept or reject the love of a holy creator. Sincerely his Cliff |

Does anyone get the feeling I'm rambling on? Too many questions (these jsut name a few) and too few answers. Probably shouldn't have posted this thread, too many questions with no conceivable answers. In Christ (for sure) goldenroad |

Obviously noone is stronger than God- doing evil is weakness not a sign of strength- it took more strength for our Lord to hang on the cross and pray forgiveness for those who were torturing and murdering Him than it would have to come down from the cross and wreck havoc and vengance ofn them- love is always stronger than hate- light is always stronger than darkness.
Before the fall amn relied on God for direction- after the fall man relied on himself to make such descisions and that is were the trouble came in- just like satan- man exalted his own thoughts and self- but all that is restored in Christ and as a Christian you will naturally choose good ( whne you wlak in the Spirit). Evil is simply the absence of good, just as the darkness is the absence of light, and coldness the absence of heat. You can't say darkness was created, it was simply because the light was not there.
Evil was a choice. God gave Adam and Eve free will to be 'good', but they chose to sin (absence of good). How could you say this person is 'good' if he/she has done nothing to prove it? Let's say we define a person who is not a drug addict as 'good'. But would we say so if that person never even had a chance to see or touch drugs in his life? Or if he was brainwashed/programmed not to take drugs, would we say he's 'good' on his own? I hope you understand my point. Maybe I'm still unable to put things clearly.

So you are saying that scripture that declares God created evil means God created the absence fo good? I can't quite seem to get that- I usually take the Word and change my opinion-
