Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Heb 13:2
So, think you might possibly have encountered an angel at sometime? Let us hear about it! Sorry if this sort of thread has been started already... |

Hi James! I love that you started this thread! I have a story for you that I know you will love. I don't think I have personally encountered any angels yet, although I have no way of knowing, but I believe with all my heart my mother has!
I am from Romania and my mother still lives there. Unfortunatelly, as much as I shared the gospel with her, she is not a believer yet. Our relationship was extremly rocky, to say the least, for all the years I spent at home(24 of them). Then, when I left, the relationship became almost non-existant and trust me, I was not sorry! But then, I became saved. After a little time of letting God start to change me, I started sharing all I had learned about the love of the Lord with my family, especially my mother. Let's just say it didn't take with her. I kept sharing and kept praying for her until she asked me to stop talking about Jesus all the time! Then, about a year ago, I was talking to her on the phone and all of the sudden she said that a woman who came out of nowhere stopped her on the street and started talking to her about Jesus and His love for her. My mother replied to this woman that her daughter(me) is a Christian and that I had talked to her over and over about the same thing. The thing that I thought was very interesting was that my mother said that she was facinated by this woman; that her manner was so sweet and so unassuming and her clothing and deameanor so simple that she(my mother) could not take her eyes off of this woman nor did she want to stop her from telling her about the Lord. My mom said that it was like hearing me talk, that is how similar this woman's words were to mine. And then she disappeared! My mother turned for just a fraction of a second and when she turned back this woman was gone! She tried to find her, but she couldn't! It was very, very strange, she said! My mother also said that this woman gave her a wonderful worm, loving feeling, as if she was made of love herself and that she made her think that maybe all I had talked to her about the Lord just might be true. My mom has not surrendered yet but she is still talking about this strange woman who came out of no where and our relationship has improved 100%! I truly believe that was not a woman at all but an angel sent by God to open my mom's heart to Jesus! Now, I'm just waiting to see just how will the Lord turn my mother's heart! It will be in a great way, I'm sure! Laura

SAFETY NET Always flitting round me, Keeping me in view, Wings outstretched so wide While I do what I must do. Ever there, but out of reach, Hovering every day; Waiting for my time of need As I go upon my way. Strange "bird" that dotes on me. If I fall I will land well. That's not a songbird fluttering near, It's my guardian angel. |

In 2002, my father passed away unexpectedly. He and I had talked about replacing a 100 year old headstone in a rural cemetery where his eldest brother's body was buried. The little guy only lived two months back in 1902 and the headstone was of limestone - the only type which the family could afford back then. It had not weathered very well and my Dad and I wanted to honor the memory of his infant brother and replace the stone.
My Dad never got to see that replacement accomplished... In the spring of 2003 I petitioned the Cemetery Committee to allow me to replace the headstone with a proper granite replacement. My request was OK'd and I ordered the headstone and when it was ready, my wife and I removed the old one and installed the new one. My Dad had a favorite song which he always listened to intently when it came on the radio. As my wife and I got into our car at the cemetery after replacing the headstone, I turned on the ignition, started my car and THAT SONG immediately came on the radio station that we had tuned in... NOT a coincidence ! - My Dad was telling us that he approved of what we had done and that was his way of letting us know.

This thread is going splendidly! Great accounts, thoughts and feelings from all! Thank you so much!!
By all means, this thread doesn't have to be strictly about angels, persay. If you or someone you know has had any sort of encounter, event, or experience that you felt may have been devine in nature please feel free to mention it here - it would be great to hear about it! Something seen, something heard, something happened, someone met. Anything from "Hmm, I still don't know what to think about that" to "Wow!". Praise the Lord, it's a wonderful world we live in.

ok this is not a angel story but it is supernatural- My brother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1996- at 340 lbs he was both the biggest and the strongest person I had ever met (he used to pick me off the ground with one hand)- anyway very strong and very prideful- no need for religion here- but as one trail in his life after another kept knocking him down I sensed God was in the business of breaking him- then the cancer- I was praying and I heard ever so clearly - " I can save his soul or I can save his body"- my response was" Lord save his soul first and then if possible his life"- well 3 months went by and my brother got weaker and weaker but he finally prayed and asked Jesus to save him- one week later he died in my arms- I went home and knelt beside my bed to pray and the precious wind of God's Holy Spirit began to blow over me and as His presence past over me I could smell, feel and sense everything that was my brother and that sweet gentle voice said " it's ok he's with Me now"- I cried and rejoiced at the same time- I still missed him but everytime the sorrow would start to pull me down from inside my spirit the praises started going up- what a wonderful faithful God- you never loose a single thing you entrust in His hands.

Trust me, I beleive your story. I had the same thing happening to me once. I was sleeping and I had a really bad dream. When I woke up, I was shaking and so scared that I didn't want to open my eyes. I did open them, however, and I'm very glad I did. I saw 2 angels standing by my bed, one on my side one on my husband's side. They were standing at attention, they had wings and each held a tall spear. Now, I don't know if they were really there or if the Lord gave me that immage to calm me down, but whatever it was it was enough. I fell back asleep and had the best rest ever! The next day I saw a painting in a Christian book store. The painting was of a little boy sleeping in his bed and by his bed side there was an angel standing at attention. He had wings and a tall spear! Needless to say, I was in awe! God is good! Laura

I don't know if this was an encounter with an angel, but it has always made me wonder.
In approximately 1997, I think it was '97, there was a knock at the door at about 11:00pm on Christmas Eve. I was staying at a motel in Beaumont Texas as there was a job I was working on down the interstate some miles. I opened the door, and some guy began to tell me of how he was wondering if I could help him because he and the wife and kids were coming back from Houston after visiting a sick family member there and the car broke down. He said he had the car off the road, someone in town was helping them to try and get it repaired (on Christmas Eve?) and that he was wondering if I could spare any money because they didn't have enough to pay for the part needed to fix it. Sure, no biggie. I looked to see about some money, had a 2 liter plastic soda bottle full to the top with change and asked him if that would be alright because it was mostly pennies. I figured there was somewhere around fifty dollars in there. He said that would be great and then asked if I could give him a ride back to the place where the car was. Sure, so we get in my work van and begin to go where he needed. As we drive away, he tells me how thankful he is and that I would not believe the reaction he got from some of the people whose doors he had knocked on. He said someone even spit in his face! Can you believe that? It's Christmas Eve mind you. When he said he was spit on, I thought it was because he was black. A black man knocking on doors asking for money in a motel full of white people. This is not the way he related it to me, but he didn't have to. We didn't discuss the racial aspect of it. I told him I was sorry, that it was Christmas Eve, and I didn't understand it either. We drive thru town, not a single car on the road and a light fog making things kind of errie. He directs me down a residental street, no Christmas lights on the houses, no trees in the windows, and no lights on in the houses. Midway down the street, he says "this is good". I stop the van and he gets out, thanks me profusely, we exchange a few Christmas pleasantries, and we part. I turn a left into a driveway to back out and leave. When I do I look for him and he is gone. No where to be seen. "Poof", he is gone. I still wonder about that guy. Might have been an angel, I don't know. |

![]() Whether or not this is an Angel story, we still don't know. Maybe it is just a story of our faith, but a great story, nevertheless. My husband was laid off at his job. He got 6 months of pay afterward and spent that 6 months looking for a job, night and day. We were down to the last days with no extra paycheck in sight. It was 1:30 in the morning when someone knocked at our door. It was a middle aged man who looked like he just got out of bed. He rambled about his children being in trouble and in need of help and asked to borrow money. We asked who he was and he said he lived "over there", pointing across the street and down a couple houses. My husband got his wallet and gave him $20.00. He said he would return the money to us yet my husband and I, neither one expected it and we almost knew we would never see it and we didn't care. That very same morning my husband got a job. He has had it almost a year now and it is far better than his previous job. We have never seen this man again to this day. |
