James, reading your story, I think YOU were the angel.
My heart imagines a story of a desparate father with no Christmas to provide his children.
A desparate mother at home, crying for her children.
Who knows, but you did as Christ would do.
Bless you~

Default My own spiritual encounters.

In the past year my faith has grown remarkably, it all started when my dad left my mom in December, which was completely unexpected as well. I prayed constantly to the father asking him for guidance on how to respond to my dad, and for comfort.

One night in late december I was lying in bed praying for what seemed like hours for comfort, and guidance. Then I heard a voice repeatedly saying 'Psalm 63', at first I did not know what to think, but the voice kept speaking. I opened my bible to the verse and it describes how we thirst for the Lord's and how he will satisfy us. The next part was what hit me in verse 6,7 'on my bed I remember you; i think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help...' After I read this verse I felt a rush flow through my body of complete peace, for this particular verse described myself lying in bed that night praying for his help, I knew it was the holy spirit flowing through me. The psalm goes on by saying how those who seek my life will be destroyed and cast down to the depths, I knew this meant the devil. God will destroy the devil who wishes to ruin my life and I felt then, I needed to rely on him.
After I had this all revealed to me by God, I sat in my bed shaking of the greatness of what he showed me, and crying in sadness but in joy for the comfort he gave me. It was then that I heard the angels singing 'Hallelujah, salvation and glory, honor and power you are holy,' and to a tune and with such reverence like I have never heard in my life, and I fell asleep listening to them singing.

In March I went on a missions trip with my youth group to Mexico. Myself and a few others visited a family near the site of where we were building a house for another family. And the mother of the family, led us in a time of prayer, they way she prayed was like a song and the words i could not understand (she was speaking spanish), as we were standing there I felt a presence surrounding the circle that we were standing in, and although I never opened my eyes I knew we were surrounded by angels, and later when we reflected on that prayer, the others said they felt the same way. Yet after the prayer the women turned to me specifically, and asked (in spanish) Why are you hurting? I had known this woman for no more than half an hour and she knew that I was hurting! This woman had to be from God. I told her the situation about my dad, and again we went into prayer, although I did not understood her I cried in her new 'song' and it was then that my mind left what was going on and I saw a vision of Christ weeping as well. That prayer is left in my memory as one of the most powerful and spiritual experience I have had.

Last Wednesday night, I heard my mom crying upstairs, above my room. I knew she was crying about my dad. I went up to comfort her, and when I came back to my room I too was crying. I prayed to God for comfort and I felt him urging me just lie down in my bed, and as I did again I heard angelic music. It was different than before though, it did not have words yet the angels were singing a song of sadness, and the music itself was like none I have ever heard, the song itself still remains clear in my mind, but I would not be able to hum it or explain of how it sounded. It was just so beautiful and soothing, and in the last few moments of the song I remembered that vision I had in mexico of Christ crying, the song ended and a split second later it started to pour outside my window, and not long after that I fell asleep soothed by God's comfort that he gave me.

Its odd how God used my parent's seperation, to put me in a place of desperation for his comfort and in doing so strengthening my faith.

Bless you, Gordon and thank you for sharing your experiences.
I will pray for you and your mom, your dad too, but I see you have such a great love and closeness with the Lord.

Please offer your mom as much encouragement as you can.
God Bless~

hey everyone

one year I moved my family to Colorado and hopefully a better life, after spending two weeks in motels we found a small place and moved in, well we started running very low on cash keeping food in the pantry and gas looking for work. well the car just up and quit, and we spent what we had on food that we hoped would last a week. after a week and no work we thought we had better look for some help through the state, after filing for emergency help the caseworker said it would take two weeks. we went and sat down waited to sign the last papers, a lady came over and looked at my wife and said you will need this, handed her an envelope, we looked inside and it had seventy dollars in it. and she was gone as quick as she came, you will never guess how much it took to feed us for two weeks, yep, seventy bucks.
