Cross Merry Christmas!

Okay, so traditionally we don't celebrate Christmas until December...another nine months away! But I think it's been pointed out that Christ was actually born in springtime. I've even heard April. Maybe we'll never know for sure. But right now, I've got Christmas music playing loudly at work! (I work alone, so no one is going to ask me to turn it off!) I'm totally in the Christmas spirit right now! It's probably mostly due to the weather. It feels like October right now. That's when I start putting the lights on the house, because November or later, there's just too much snow. I also like to start my Christmas shopping is October. So, with our slightly colder spring weather, I'm all pumped for Christmas! Merry Christmas...and happy birthday, Jesus!

Daniel - If you have access to a Companion Bible please review Appedix # 179. If you do not have a Companion Bible, you may wish to use the first link below for the accurate time line of Christ's Birth on September 28-29 (on our modern calendar). You can also check the verifyable time line presented in the second link below. Look especially for the explaination of the Levitical Priest, Zecharia, and his assigned supervision dates in the Temple. This time period was called a 'course' and Zecharia worked the 'Course of Abia' that summer. Zecharia was the husband of Elizabeth and Elizabeth was the Mother of John the Baptist AND the cousin of Mary - the Mother of Christ.

Zecharia ended his course of supervision in the temple in late June (on our calendar) or on 23rd SIVAN on the Hebrew calendar. He went home to Elizabeth and 'knew' her. John the Baptist was conceived on that day. We know from scripture that when Elizabeth was 6 months pregnant with John the Baptist, that her cousin, Mary, became pregnant at the Will of God, with Christ. Mary immediately paid a visit to Elizabeth when she conceived. John the Baptist was 6 months OLDER than Christ, so we know that Christ was CONCEIVED in late December (on our calendar) or around 1 Tebeth on the Hebrew calendar and was born around 15 Tisri (or September 28-29 on our calendar).
The details presented below are verifyable both historically and biblically but the 'traditions' of one particular denomination has obscured the truth about this for 1700 years. That denomination 'assigned' the birth of Christ to coincide with a Pagan winter festival in order to draw in new converts and to pacify them. The December 'birth of Christ' is not correct but the 'church' will not admit their erroneous agenda to this day and keeps the false teaching alive so many are deceived.

Enjoy your studies:
