Just wondering how many of you speak in tongues and what the others here think of speaking in tongues-

I have done a little online research and found that there are as many opinions on this subject as Baskin and Robbins has flavors - I personally believe there is more than one type of tongues as exampled in the scriptures but if the subject is to contraversial I am willing to let it drop- regards Larry

Sorry Boanerges, I only get to visit periodically. I have no problem debating controversial subjects as long as the tone remains friendly. And I seen no evidence whatsoever to indicate that you will do anything but that(remain friendly I mean).

I personally am not a big fan of tongues because I believe a lot of people abuse the gift. However, I cannot condemn the practice either. The best Scripture in my opinion concerning tongues would be 1Corinthians 14. As long as it's done along these guidelines, then I say OK.

But absolutely no where in the Bible have I read that you must speak in tongues to be saved.

I just wanted to say I am in absolute agreement with you Preacherman- salvation comes by grace thru faith- from the greatest apostle to the youngest babe in Christ we all have only one leg to stand on and that is the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ! And yes I like the hotlinking of the scripture too!
