It's "Top 10 Tuesday" - So with apologies to Jeff Foxworthy (You might be a Redneck) here are 10 Signs You Might Be a Pharisee...

1. If you consider the church roll the Lambs book of Life.

2. If you're disgusted by the moral filth that is playing out of your own VCR/DVD player.

3. If you think Christianity is about rules rather than relationship.

4. If you think any church that has experienced growth must be watering down the Gospel.

5. If you rebuke the visiting preacher for not wearing a tie when he was in the pulpit.

6. If you won't let your kids watch "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" because there's a witch in the movie.

7 - 10 are still on my blog if you want to stop by and read the rest. Also, can you think of any I left out?

If anybody wants to admit to being a pharisee we could use you in our church play! Just kidding my father in law is playing a pharisee and nothing could be farther from the truth in his case- 83 years old and a minister in the local parish (county to you yankees ) prisons and at least once a week ministering at retirement homes- twice a week bible studies and on and on- what an awesome man of God-1

Don't sweat it brother Paddelford- in our flesh dwells no good thing- if we are used by God for His glory it is the flesh's natural tendency to be first proud of what "we" accomplished and then judgemental of others who haven't "served God like we did"- this is just an illustration of a naturally minded man- it is our job to find out who we are in Christ- this is the only place we won't exhibit any fleshly tendencies. If we take His very Word's of life-the Holy Bible - our flesh devoid of His Holy Spirit's guidance and heart will be only a book of rules used to whitewash the outside of our tombs- if you really want to loose the flesh just spend more time with Him AND His Word.
I like to pray this: Lord deliver me from my preconceived ideas and tendencies and show me who You really are!

First of all what a name... Pharisees! It's easy to criticize them but why do we repent? It's because we are also Pharisees, judging each other before judging ourself, looking at the dust in the other's eye before looking at the concrete block in your own eye... So i think i would have been like them, i didn't really have a special heart to be honest, but got changed me. From a pharisee to a child of God that is living to try to please him. So i am very thankful that he did that through a few young college mates from Apostolos Campus Ministry [edit] that had faith - thank you God! and when you hate Pharisees, think about yourself -

1.You can quote the Ten Commandments in order, word for word, but can't remember who wrote them.

2.You know every thing about the cross there is to know except how to stand at the foot of it.

3. You believe that God rested on the seventh day and left you in charge.

4.. You're absolutely sure it's a sin if your not the one doing it.

5 You truely believe it is necessary to tell the Son of God to wash His hands.

6. Every sentance you speak either begins or ends with "Thus sayeth the LORD.

7.You insist on stoning others from inside your glass house.

8 You insist you are leading people to Christ even if no one follows.

9.You realy believe you are called to point out evey ones faults because you have none of your own.
