Joshua, Paul, Jacob, David and Job
Joshua was a man of faith and courage and He had an ear fro God Paul was a man who caught sight of Christ and lost sight of everything else Jacob- supplanter- the one who takes the place of- spent His whole life positioning Himself to receive God's blessing and favor David reminds me of myself as he makes plenty of mistakes but is quick to repent and loves God with His whole heart Job- while I haven't had the trails that job went thru I have been tested and I feel as though my life is a testimony to His grace and like Job I declare "though He slay me I will trust Him" |

Probably Luke. He was the only Gentile scriptor of the New Testament and was a medical doctor, so he often referenced Hebrew writings into the Greek language for technical clarity. He was well traveled, loyal to Christ and to his friend, Paul, and taught with all his might to whomever would gather to listen. That kind of dedication to The Truth is admirable.

Peter....because he was boisterous, sometimes not the brightest, but in the end very loving, also he ver often "stuck his foot into his mouth, up to the knee".....he reminds me so much of me.
Paul.....he is the example outside of christ that we should strive for. and of course, my namesake.....elijah....read his story.....'nuff said. |

Another man I admire and would like to emulate is Elisha- a man so hungry for the anionting of God he cut up and sacrificed everything that pertained to his old way of living. He could have stopped at Gilgal- literally the rolling away of reproach (the place of salvation), he could have stopped at bethel literally the house of God (the church) but instead he kept following the man of God to the Jordan- this was the river that seperated the Israelites from God's promises- he could have stopped anywere- but he wouldn't rest until he receive the mantel of annionting from his God- he literally tore of everything else he was wearing and ran to this annionting- I can only pray that God gives me such a heart!

Without a doubt, Shammah.
2Samuel 23 11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines. 12 But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory. Shammah was a man that knew some things were worth fighting for. ![]()
