Default Please help me!

Alright guys, im a 17 year old Christian who decided to do his argumentative research paper for Christianity. Now what is different about my approach is that i am not trying to argue the existence of God or the validity of our beliefs, but simply the Christianity is a necessary thing for societies to survive. my 3 main points (as of now) are that it provides a very strong moral structure, creates a large sense of community in large groups of people, and prompts a "help others" sense not normaly present in human nature. now i have been tryin and trying but i can't think of any examples of support for my argument! im a mediocre essay writer in the first place and i want this to be realy good. i need some ideas to argue for. thanx for your help srry if i put this in the wrong catagory, im gettin kinda frantic seeing as the paper is due this friday and has to be 7 pages

First of all I sympathize with you for having to write the paper. I am writing one as I am typing this that is due tomorrow and has to be 3-5 pages and I don't even have a whole page yet.

I'm sorry to say this, but I think that doing a research paper over this is going to be very difficult. It is a research paper, therefore you obviously have to have proper research to support your points. It is going to be very difficult to find research on this.

I am a Christian and I personally don't believe Christianity prompts a "help others" sense of mentality. Other cultures have a large sense of community even if they are not Christian. And most people I know are 'Christians' yet I seem to be the only person who had a problem with the content in the movie 300. A man had his 10 year old son in the theater with him and didn't walk out. In an almost entirely Christian community. I find that it doesn't seem to be helping out America's morals. I actually think I become more disappointed with 'Christians' everyday.

What class are you writing this for? I would strongly suggest you think of another topic, mostly because that is going to be an extremely hard research paper to write, and I have no idea how to help you find good research for that topic.

well, i am writing it for my language and composition class. and i can't change topics, my teacher won't let me , at first i didn't think it would be this hard...but i am finding all to abruptly that it is. And i don't mean this offensively nor do i want to get into a debate about it, but i believe that if we abode by the laws of the bible, "love your neighbor as you love yourself", followed Jesus's footsteps, then we would have a "help others" sense. I agree that the majority of America is hypocrits, i admit i am one of them, tho i try not to be. most "Christians" of american simply say they are christians for the sake of sayin it, and don't attempt to live a pure life in any sense.

You should do alright, 7 pages isn't that much. I don't really understand your argument, seems you would first have to give examples of societies that did not survive. And then give examples of how these societies would have survived if they had some christian virtue happening.

I probably don't understand what you are doing with the essay, what was the assignment, exactly?

So, you are going to argue in favor of christianity, correct?

Seems like you could do that a easier by referencing law. Laws seem to follow christianity fairly well. Meaning it is illegal to kill, steal, fraud (deceive, lie), prostitution, do drugs, etc.....

You need a premise.

You are going to argue in favor of christianity by showing it has a positive impact on society.

I don't see how that would be that hard. Not killing people is a good thing. How can anyone argue with that? The less people that get killed, the better.

Maybe I'm not going to be able to help much.
