Default "Why God won't hear our Prayers"

Have you ever felt like your prayers weren't working or that God wasn't listening? This week while reading, I ran across some verses in the book of James that talked about the things that hinder or stop my prayers. That kind of scares me, because I don't want anything stopping my prayers. So I thought I'd share with you a few of the things that might be unplugging our prayer life.

As a Christian I need to be plugged in to the power source... prayer ... and God.

I've included 6 things that hold back our prayers on my blog today. Stop by and see if you agree of if I've forgotten any...

(Click here for the Story or see my Signature)

Blessings,

Trey

You can't just rely on God to do everything for you. You have to do somethings yourself. God can do everything but the real test is to let him help you through life.

I believe God always answers sometimes He says no and as your article stated TreyM it is all in His time.
Paddelford I must rely on God for everything- any area I am not totally dependant on Him is a weakness that can and will cause me to stumble- God takes no pleasure in the legs ( strenght) of a man- His strenght is perfected in my weakness- I must hear His voice and do His will, I must walk His way and find His purpose in every aspect of my life- I must do all this trusting Him and receiving His grace and strenght in everything I do- from getting out of bed to my laying down again-I must follow and depend on Him!

You cann'ot rely on God for everything. You can't rely on God to make you breath, to make your legs move and tell people about Jesus. If your going to do that you might as well not be a human. That part we do ourselves. But we need his help in order to get to heaven.

Born again Christians rely on God for EVERYTHING, they are guided by the Holy Spirit continueously. That's what they WANT, that's what they DO.
Total commitment!

You can't rely on God to make you breath,
He GAVE us the air to breath. He designed us to breath.

When we speak about Jesus to people, the Holy Spirit guides us and gives us wisdom.

Born again Christians are children of God, saved by grace through Jesus Christ. We are not of this world, we'r just passing through.
This life is only ONE MILLIONS OF A SECOND in eternity.

But we need his help in order to get to heaven.
Repentance is the key, that's where Jesus comes into the picture.

Are you saying that a 1 minute old baby is thinking:

I better start breathing right now, or I'll die!

Of course not. God makes the baby breath, He designed it that way.

Are you thinking all day: I better keep breathing!

Of course not. You breath without thinking about it, God made you that way.

Thats what I'm getting at.

To get back to the subject, I hope you don't mind Padelford:

The title on this thread: "Why God won't hear our Prayers", is wrong.

God always hears our prayers.

God knows and hears everything.

Maybe the answering part is confusing some people.

Well, Padelford, God created you in a way that you don't have to think about breathing all the time.

If you think about having to breath all the time you have a problem, you have to put a stop to that. ----->

Maybe the enemy puts that kind of thing in your mind.

God wants you to have other things on your mind, like for instance HIM, He wants to fellowship with you without you having to be frustrated.

ISAIAH 59:1-2 says.....

1 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
2 But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
