Have any of youheard of "The Secret", just recently featured on Oprah. The secret is the law of attraction and people are going crazy for it. The law of attraction states that whatever you put out in the universe, the universe will return to you. Anyway what I was wondering was, if they are replacing "God" with "the universe" and if this theory is in sync with Christianity?

Hmmm...this is kind of just a fancy way of saying karma isn't it? There is also a Wiccan tenant that states the law of threes (whatever you do, good or evil, will be returned to you three fold).

Wow, I can't believe this is really not a joke. The universe is just a cosmic wishing well that will give us whatever we want if we only believe it will happen. Of course, all of our desires will then make us truly happy. Geez. There's a lot to be said for setting goals and having a positive state of mind, but this goes far beyong that.

I must say, whoever is marketing this is really in tune with what people want to hear. He/She is making a killing printing books telling people they can have the easy way to money and happiness.

I mean this in all honesty: Oprah is more harmful to Christianity than just about anything else in our society. Porn, murder, violence, fraud, lying, cheating, etc. are all blatantly evil and even if people partake in them, at least it's undeniable that they're in sin. Oprah, however, can use a quasi-spiritual load of bunk, package it as Godly, and lead the masses into absolutely 100% false teachings. She has done a lot of good in the world, but I strongly believe that she is one of Satan's most effective tools because of her ability to take people's eyes of Christ in the name of "feeling good."

I have to agree with you Bassmasa. This film is a tool to undermine Christianity...and it is only the beginning. Trust nothing outside of the Living Word of God! He is the only way!
