So I'm walking closer with Christ than I have before. What took me so long to realize how important this truly is? Anyway, I'm changing my habits and turning away from the trash that is current music. I still listen mainly to talk radio, but would really like to begin listening to Christian music.

The problem is that I can't find any that I like. Most "current" Christian music is just not my style, too much of a "pop" sound. I've listened to many different channels over the past few days and have yet to find a band I really like. The words are inspiring, but many times when a song is on, I look up and say, "Lord, I'm trying, but You know how much I don't like these sounds."

My favorite genre is classic and modern rock/alternative. Secular bands like R.E.M., Dave Matthews Band, U2, etc. I loathe country music (strange for a Kentuckian, huh?) and slow/sappy songs. I like up-beat, energetic music, lots of guitars, bass, and drums.

Anyone have recommendations for a good Christian Rock artist?

Got a suggestion for you. If you do not already have "WINAMP 5.3" loaded into your PC, please try it... it's free. Once you have it loaded and configured for look and navigation that suits you, click on "Shoutcast Radio" from the left menu. In the search block, enter "Christian" and hit 'Search'... you will have close to 200 on-line Christian stations to choose from. Some are on 24/7 others are on only part of each day. However, you can find any genre that you like in that list of available sources of good quality audio.

Chris Tomlin and Kutless seem to be in the right style for what you are looking. Also, there is a Christian Goth band called Beauty from Ashes that sound a bit like U2 mixed with Bauhaus. Might also wanna try Audio Adreneline, Casting Crowns, David Crowder, or Newsboys.

I like all genres of Music....and I like alot of the stuff you guys named, but can anybody help me with some Christian Gangsta rap. I like "slow rollin on 24's" style music. The "ridin music".....
