People have done this in downtown Toronto and it was on the news . Remarkably they had a good response. Great idea. More people need hugs in our society.

...or a free slug!
![]() I grew up in a house where hugs and kisses weren't very often. Today, I can't get enough! ![]() What's weird is when you get a hug and kiss and then there's that odd moment when you don't know what to think. ![]() If they ban free hugs, they should ban strangers being rude to each other as well. Maybe the guy should have started charging a penny a hug...

Same here D. My dad came from an old fashioned German family and emtion was not readily expressed. It took me decades to be able to look at my dad and say these words " Dad I love you". He looked at me and answered me back " I love you too Larry". It was like taking the cork out of the bottle and my dad spent the last 10 years of his life sharing his love with the whole family! What a gift from God.

Wow .... It seems like we all came from similar backgrounds. My mom never really expessed her love to us but I still knew that she loved us but hugs and the saying "I love you' was never really heard in our home . Maybe that is just the way the generation before us behaved. I also did not have a dad as he died when I was young so that could have also played a part. But now in church, it is me who initiates the hugs and I love it.
