Default My Spouse has Needs?

I think every couple will agree, "We want the best marriages possible." If my marriage is bad, I want to make it good. If my marriage is good, I want to make it great. If it's great, I want to make it even better. But just like anything else, marriage takes work. Sometime hard work. Good marriages don't just happen by accident.

So what are you husband's or wife's main needs in marriage. How can you meet them? I've listed His Needs / Her Needs according to a couple of different people?

Blessings,

Trey

Hello, I'm new here, but have learned the hard way what needs my wife has. Simply put, I just need to listen. She likes to talk about her day and her feelings, which I rarely do, but nothing could be more important to her. She has plenty of other needs as well, but they all relate to my thick skull taking the time to really listen.

The hardest part for me is that if she has a problem, I immediately want to tell her how to fix it. I'm a guy, that's what I do. On many occassions, especially early in our marriage, she'd accuse me of being condescending, which I never understood until recently. I discovered that she doesn't want my help (unless she specifically says so), just my attention and compassion.

It's amazing that when I take the time to really listen, every other part of our relationship falls into place.

Blessings,

I believe if both partners are focused on Jesus, marriage should not be so difficult. They are both working towards the same goal. The problems occur when their goal is not equally committed to God.

Bass ... I think that's one of the hardest things I had to learn too. Listen is a learned skill for men, not something that just happens.
