Default prejudice from a church!??

A friend of mine moved here last summer. she joined a church that is known for being experimental. it is based totally on music. even the sermon contains singing.

anyway, she decided she wanted to start a 'girls night out' group for christian women. I thought it was a good idea. a way to meet women outside of our own church. well, we both did all we could to spread the word about it. she found this cute, little coffee shop downtown that was owned by a baptist minister. a great place to meet. at the first meeting, she noticed no one had come from her church. she mentioned it to her minister after church on sunday. he told her that he had suggested to some of the women that the coffee shop chosen wasn't an appropriate location because of the owners. she told him it was owned by christians. he replied, 'yes, but they are of the wrong color.'

this shocked both of us. how can he hold a position others look to for guidance, with such an attitude?? honestly, I can't believe such an attitude still exists in this day and age.

how do you feel about it?

Genesis 1:26 (KJV), ..."And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27 (KJV) So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 1:28 (KJV) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Except for Adam's lineage which was created on the eighth day as the seed line through which Christ would come, ALL the races were created on the sixth day...

Genesis 1:31 (KJV), "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

There is no room in ministry or Christianity, for that matter, for racist bigots. They are among the False Teachers and should be avoided at all costs because they do the work of SATAN very well. They are among the lowest of low lifes on this planet and unfortunately they do have followers... more persons being falsely taught and more persons who will worship the antichrist because they don't know any better.

The longer one is a Christian, the more one goes through being shocked by the church, until accepting just what it really is. Trust in God. Trust in the church only to the extent it helps you to trust in God, but don't ever let it take away your freedom of conscience. And, remember only the truth is our authority, not what someone in the church insists the truth is, but just what the truth is, which is often, but not always, found at church.

Just because someone says or even thinks they are Christians, doesn't make it true, and doesn't make their hearts true. IIRC, I think the KKK bases their own beliefs on Christianity in their own minds. There will always be false teachers, false witnesses, false believers. It's up to the REALY Christians, to shine through the fog.

Let me borrow the words of another, "just because a mouse is in the cookie jar it does not make him a cookie."

It's depressing when I hear about things like this. I definitely would not attend a church with a minister like that, that's for sure. He needs Jesus!

That is so wrong to judge anyone like that. That minister needs to be corrected. These are people who have very less understanding about the Bible.

I wonder if racist "Christians" think there will be a separate heaven for those of different races. If we can't love one another here on earth, I question if we'll even be in heaven.
John 13:35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Yea, you're all right. "Racist Christians" should not be allowed. Neither should those who do not look down of the colour of another's skin, but shun their background, their appearance, or their past.
