I've been told I am very patient, and believe I am but lately 2 episodes have really tried me.
One is an elderly lady I visit in hospice care... Her mind is going and she is forever complaining and accusing whoever she has as a roomate that they are stealing from her ect, ect. She doesn't remember events as they occured. When we my husband and I explain that her roomate couldn't have stolen certains things from her because...................... She doesn't believe us... She calls the food they give her as garbage like she has in the last 4 hospitals... Her constant complaining, griping and accusations are getting to me... She is and always has been mean to the nurses, and staff... The second person is a friend who is mentally ill but refuses to take her medications. Her life is totally out of control but she claims she is healed. Last time I saw her she talked fast continually for 8 hours... My other friend takes Sanex when we see her. When I got home I was sick, my head was realing, my chest hurt, I couldn't get to sleep I felt so oppressed. I don't believe as she does, and the verse in scripture, Let the dead bury the dead ...........kept coming to mind.

I hear you beloved . As a retired nurse I ran accross that behaviour quite often so my patience was tried many times and many times I would have to ask the Lord for help .
But when it hits your own family it is even worse and my mom who is now with the Lord , had a stroke and she was never the same because of damage to the brain and she would constantly complain about her care and the nurses stealing from her or some one. She was never a lady like that ... very sweet and would not say anything about anybody so the stroke altered her mind. She loved her food before and the nursing home from what I could see had very good food . She even told me one day to shutup and that is when I knew it was not my mom as she never talked like that . So yes the Lord gives us patience to deal with so many heart wrenching experiences. She even told the nurses that her family put her in the nursing home against her wishes and it was she who wanted to go there as she was staying with my brother before so , I know my dear when we get old it is not easy . I just hope and pray that I am never like that but one never knows.
