Thumbs down kicked off a book swapping site

Hi yall,
I'm a little miffed and frustrated. I just found out I was kicked off www.Paperbackswap.com not sure exactly why, except I did post this wonderful link to a website I read on here last night. ProblemPage I posted it on the religion and spirituality thread. A homosexual had opened a thread about a Christian book. Since there is so much hatred on this website for Christians I thought if they went there and read about the Lord for themselves and seen that Christians are not perfect and make mistakes. Hoping they would once again have a chance to learn about the Lord and maybe understand why Christians speak of the Lord. At least I know they have been given the gospel, they've been warned and their blood is not on my hands.
Well, later after Church I went back to check my account and it was frozen. I later was able to at least get on enough to see that I was no longer an account holder. I wasn't sent an e-mail, wasn't warned, just booted off because I'm a Christian that loves the Lord. Recently another girl was kicked off. I guess this is just another way of trying to silence the Christians.

Please pray for the others on there who claim the name of Christ, but are not very strong in faith that no matter what they would be bold for the Lord while there is still time. Some are fearful of being kicked off and not being able to trade books. So they are becoming silent in their witness.

Thanks for listening, needed others to see that if that hate crime bill gets passed. It will be all out war against the Christians being able to speak.

These things will happen, be optimistic and move on from that website. Do not dwell on this since as Christians we should expect to be unappreciated. Find a new book swapping site.

Agreed!

Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

To these lost souls the truth is an irritant and a constant reminder of the emptiness and struggles within. Jesus told us to rejoice when we are persecuted for His Namesake and He is pleased with you.

I finally received an e-mail from them, and in essence it I'll shut up about God, then I can swap books. That's not happening!

The unbelievers can dish Christians and the Lord, but let a Christian tell them the about the Lord and the Christians get slammed.

And in the real big picture this is nothing compared to what our brothers and sisters n Christ go through every day. But, you know, what they are going through now had a small beginning. One freedom at a time taken away. And it seems we are entering phase 1 or possibly 2. How much longer before America has no more freedoms to worship and speak of the Lord openly? I have friends who are cross bearers who have been arrested for carrying the cross and handing out tracts. One of my friends cross is at a jail, because the Judge will not give it back to him. God helps us to get ready spiritually, physically and mentally!

One of the many pitfalls of forum and other forms of non personal witnessing.

There is no way of knowing who we are witnessing to, how they will take it, or in what they will do in responce.
Obviously some one in authority didn't appreciate your post ,but it is hard to say why, since it has been removed without comment. How ever after more than two hours looking around in the site, I must say that with the exception of a few individuals who expressed anti Christian sentiment, I found it to be very open and accepting.
In some ways it is more accepting of Christian perspectives than this forum. I'm not saying that is good or this forum isn't. But it most definately isn't a seat of Christian persecution.
Though it's main purpose is not discussion of beliefs( but exchange of books ) I found it to be pleasently accepting of fair and open discussion of beliefs (especialy christian).

There are two peices of scripture valuable when witnessng in open and unknowable feilds, such as this.

Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Not all situations and places are good for witnessing. Discernment is desirable especialy if one doesn't respond well to rejection or confrontation.

Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

If your going to boldly express your beliefs and aggressively witness in non-Christian environments and situations you have to expect some dislike, resistance, confrontation, rejection and yes even an occational act of retalliation. It is not a matter of if it will happen but when. The best one can do is get past it, move on and learn how to best handle "for the glory of God" it when it does happen the next time.

Blessings
Cliff

Cliff is right, if we speak the Word we can expect resistance. We should never try to cram the Word of God down any one's throat.
But if the Lord leads us to share know this:
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

All the seed you have sown will not be in vain.

Well Theo, I can tell you that if you became a member there, you as a Christian will not be readily accepted if you stand up for the Lord! Now if your a silent Christian and keep your mouth closed and don't say anything, not a problem. Or if you agree to all kinds of ungodliness, then your accepted.
I am still waiting for them to come out and out and tell me that as a Christian I have to keep quiet. They are wanting me to either be quiet and stay in specific forums and I can still stay a member, or to just give up my membership. For instance I can speak of anything but God. Once a Christian mentions God or the things of God, they get slammed and then reported to the owner. But, an unbeliever, atheist, agnostic, wiccan, pagan or what ever else there, can post and mock God and Christians all they want and no one that runs the site will do anything. If anything they accuse the Christians and tell them it's their fault. I know, I've been on it for almost a year. Remember the saying all that glitters is not gold? Tis true!
And yes, from the outside it looks pretty good. And the concept of swapping books is wonderful. But, if a Christian goes into the forums like we do here and discuss the Lord or the things of the Lord, that is not acceptable to them! Except at The Christian Book Forum only.
Let me tell you who would not be accepted there, God, Jesus, John the Baptist, the Apostles, Paul and true believers of the Lord. All others are accepted with open arms.
But, Praise God, seeds have been planted. I will not know till I get to heaven what seeds will come to harvest! I am a seed planter for the Lord and am not ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ or his word, it is the power to save a soul!

I've been going back and forth with Paperbackswap with e-mails for a week. They out and out lied to me, and it's not like I was surprised, but then I really knew they were not trying to do what was right by a member. They were trying to silence another Christian and I was not going away quietly. It would have been different had I not had 4 books owed to me. It's rather a long story. But, I've been disappointed at the deception of the people there who are running it. Sooooooo

I've joined another book swap! And then today, I looked at the devotional I have on my desk. Listen to the verse on it and the devotional, it sure spoke to me!

Genesis 50:20 You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.

Charles M. Sheldon wrote (In his Steps) in 1896 and it was first published by a religious weekly magazine. The magazine's publisher failed to meet copyright regulations, so Sheldon lost legal ownership of the book. Scores of publishers then sold millions of copies, and the author couldn't claim any royalties. Forty years after Charles Sheldon "lost" his book, he said, " I am very thankful that, owing to the defective copyright, the book has had a larger reading on account of the great number of publishers.

Joseph too experienced losses...Yet he did not blame anyone. Instead he recognized that God had orchestrated the events of his life for the eventual good of others.

I don't know what good will come out of it all, but I know I have planted alot of seeds there and am awaiting a harvest for the kingdom!! I don't want to be anywhere that my Lord is not welcomed!Shaking the dust from my feet and going on. Praise God!
