All of my five sons play the guitar; four of them play the drums as well. They all have taught themselves with two of them now taking lessons from a friend. The oldest who died six years ago yesterday, started the music frenzy in this family years ago when he took piano lessons. I told him that I would buy him a guitar after he learned to play the piano. I bought him an ovation when he was 13. We bought his brother a drumset, and our peaceful life of tranquility was over. I could play a few chords on my old Applause guitar, but after hearing what the oldest could do I quit trying! LOL
The boys have Ovations, Ibanez, and Fender guitars; and a Yamaha conventional drumset, and a Roland Electronic drumset. So far I have seen four garage bands established at my house, and the youngest is 11 years old and I expect another.

Brother Solo, I share in the loss of your precious oldest son! I also, encourage you to pick up that 'gut' box [guitar] and make a joyful noise to the Lord! :-D Keep the desire to play that wonderful instrument of Praise to our God! And He will do the rest! :smt035 Psalms:95:1: O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. God Bless you my brother! Your brother in Yeshua,[Jesus] Joe This is a 'gaphic' I created of myself playing a Fender Strat. 2006 ![]() |

I taught myself how to play the electric organ but probably 'stink' compared to you! ops: The guitar I and others feel, is one of the most 'personal' musical instruments a person can play! The creator, I think it was Segovia, a Spanish musician, loved his wife so much that he had a master craftsmen who was also a musician design the 'shape' of a woman in the wood. If you look at a guitar, especially the Spanish or accoustic models, you will see the 'female' design in it! Many guitarists over the years I have jammed with aware of where and why the guitar is shaped the way it is! [1] The 'head', the tuning pegs [2] The fingerboard, is called the 'neck' [3] Where the sound hole is, are the two cut-aways, 'the breats' [4] Where the stings are attched on the bottom is the 'bridge', conversing into a 'V' shape the woman's private area [5] the lower end of the guitar is the 'hips' of a woman [6] When you turn the guitar around you have the 'back' of a woman [7] And the lower end becomes the 'posterior' of a woman. ![]() You 'hold' the guitar and 'draw' it 'closer' to you as if you love and bring a woman closer! You place it on your lap to admire it or suspend it 'around' your neck to pick or strum it. You 'caress' the 'neck' of it [like a woman] and so on! If you tried to put a 'piano' on your lap or around your neck we would all be 'praying' for God to heal you of a humungous hernia and broken bones! My sense of humor! God Bless, Your brother in Christ, Joe |

Eph:4:16: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. God Bless you! Your brother in Christ Jesus, Joe |

Im learning Guitar.
I took 4 lessons a while ago, but since then I've been just trying to play along with some of my Cd's. I'm looking for a teacher that can teach me the style of Guitar that I prefer. so far no luck. I also played Accordian as a youth. I won first and third place at two competitions I went to. I still own an accordian.I sing pretty good, (so im told) the Old Church Hyms, like "Great is thy Faithfullness" I love the old Hyms. The Lord said to make a joyfull noise. Im trying. ![]()
