When someone uses science and their logic and concludes that everyone's just gonna see what they wanna see and you can't know the truth until the end and that's that - what spirit(s) are there and how can I attack that?
I was friendly debating with a young lady at work and She keeps going to the bold statement above. She believes in evolution, and possibly a God, but doesn't see how she can know in this life what is the truth. With that reasoning I can't see her being convinced, but by some work, some amazing grace and a breath of God. I will continue to grow and live for Christ for her to watch, but is there any advice and wisdom for me in dealing with this kind of spirit and what to pray over it?

Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Sow love and kindness, speak words of faith. There will come a time when she will come to you for help and prayer.

Obviously you can't use the same tactic on all people because some are Muslims, Some Atheists, some kind of atheists. some christians by name only.
For that woman, I suggest giving her this website, check it out, it taught me a lot, very amazing: Eternal Productions - 101 Scientific Facts and Foreknowledge As Paul said, some are babe in Christ so we must feed them with milk. But she is not a babe in Christ, she's not even a .... something :P so you must introduce God to her. The verse that boan posted is amazing, Gal 6:9 To not give up! Keep praying for God to move her. Do not give up. when she becomes more into Christ, teach her how to pray, not just a fake prayer of being saved, it doesn't work that way, but give her an idea on how to pray, pray with her also. Let her know which words to say, and to not pray in selfishness. I was praying for selfish desires 12 months ago, until a friend of mine told me 6 months ago how to truly pray, and it is to seek God. So don't be afraid to give her advice and to be bold. But that's for later use, not now.

You also know that even though satan might be saying to you see ...... blah ,blah, blah, don't worry , pray and submit her to Christ and let the Holy Spirit do the work . Even if you do not see the results , some one else might come along and water the seed that you have planted. So chin up my dear brother . If God be for you .... who can be against you ?

I have someone very close to me who is agnostic. Since last year I've tried to answer her questions by talking to her, sending her links to websites, reading things to her, watching "The Case for Christ" dvd, subscribing to "Answers" magazine, and all that stuff. ( Just for the record - I really have made a conscious effort to not be "pushy". In fact, I've only initiated a conversation regarding Christ once. )
Well, I've pretty much come to learn that my efforts at answering the questions about evolution, the "problem of evil", and many other fairly typical (and some not-so typical) questions probably aren't going to bring her to Christ. If fact, "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them." This is so true. With this in mind, now days when questions come up - I always try to simply direct the conversation to Jesus and the message of the gospel. Afterall, the message of the gospel is the only one that saves. |

"everyone's just gonna see what they wanna see and you can't know the truth until the end and that's that"
That's not a very logical statement, and has nothing to do with science. Her statement is what we call "a red herring" or misleading statement. "everyone's just gonna see what they wanna see" to assume that all are intellectually dishonest is to be intellectually dishonest, also it's quite arrogant "you can't know the truth until the end and that's that " What truth is it that cannot be known? Her ignorance is not representative of others. She needs to grow up and quit playing head games while dodging the issue. |
