Default Immersion or sprinkling baptism?

Well, I've been given the choice above. Immersion is done at a motel in our town, and sprinkling is done at the church. Man, I'm excited and scared. Scared that something might break inside me, or my hair is going to turn white with that much joy/focus for/on the Lord, if that makes any sense. It isn't until this fall, so I have plenty of time to pray about it. What are you experiences? BTW I was baptized as a baby, now it's time to be baptized as a reborn man...who gets teary eyed all the time talking about the Lord, whats the deal with that??!

Default Baptized

Tyler, I was immersed in the Mormon church. I have not been baptized again, but I feel like I need to be. So, I shouldn't be the one giving you advice, but I'm a rebel, so here goes!

I find it totally awesome that you are tender-hearted before God! I am still like that. God loves it because He can speak to you when you are like that, so start listening to your heart and bath in His love continually. I was reading some old emails I had printed out from way back. Boanerges sent me one that is just full of wisdom. On the bottom of the page it says "Deeper Christian Life." I'll quote some for you because I knew I needed to give it to someone tonight. It makes even more sense to me now than it did when I first read it.

"As I need every moment afresh the air to breathe, as the sun every moment afresh sends down it's light, so it is only in direct living communication with God that my soul can be strong.
The manna of one day was corrupt when the next day came. (They were given just as much manna from Heaven to eat as they needed for that day so that they had to depend on God for more the next day) I must every day have fresh grace from heaven, and I obtain it only in direct waiting upon God Himself. Begin each day by tarrying before God, and let Him touch you. Take time to meet God."

What this says to me is that if you want to keep this tender heart, you must commune with God every day to keep it fresh. I made the mistake of forsaking my devotions and talking with Him and found myself slipping back into my old sins. I didn't understand how I could be so weak. But, I knew I was missing something that I still hungered for, but chose to be without and not bother with while we were on vacation. It was a huge mistake. But God knew and He led me back and now I'm taking it slow and He is actually waking me up an hour before my alarm goes off just so He can talk with me! Allow me to share more from this message:

"This Christ is a living Person. He loves you with a personal love, and He looks every day for the personal response of your love. Look into His face with trust, till His love really shines into your heart. Make His heart glad by telling Him that you do love Him. He offers Himself to you as a personal Saviour and Keeper from the power of sin. Do not ask, 'can I be kept from sinning if I keep close to Him?' but ask, 'can I be kept from sinning, if He always keeps close to me?' and you see at once how safe it is to trust in Him. He says, "My child, I give you as much of Christ as your heart is open to receive."

I'm sorry this is so long, but I want to share just one more thing with you, and I have to be bold and tell you and all who read this how I learned that obedience taught me so much when I finally did obey Him.

I had always been tempted sexually. I was very weak in that area, even after I became a Christian. I had felt a little convicted by the way I dressed, but failed to see it as having anything to do with my weakness, if you can believe that! Finally, after I fell for the last time, God had to practically tap me on the shoulder and shout it to me. I was on my knees, praying about my falling, confessing it, when He said to me in my heart: "If you don't want to be tempted, then don't be a temptress!" I had to reconsider my unwillingness to change the way I dressed. Since then, I have not been tempted in that way again - seriously! It just took an act of obedience and a little "shaking" by God to make me wake up to the importance of being still and listening to that still small voice and obeying Him.

I really don't know why I am going on and on about this, but I hope it reaches someone's heart out there.

Thanx for sharing and starting this thread. Now I'll be still.
