I kinda like the song. Not one of my favs though.

Two people being kept apart by circumstances not within their control. The singer is thinking that he's wasting time just doing nothing...when he could be with the one he loves.

I think it's a beautiful song, very expressive.

Now...Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting is the one I don't get.

to me it means (rolling like thunder)they make lots of noise with no damage only from people who are scared.(under the covers)satan covers so self explanitary.(while i,m away sweep away the demons )no sense whatsoever,faulse statement.

this is a trick, I thought.

He says: "And while I'm away...dust of the demons INSIDE".

Meaning: Don't let them settle in.

Sir Elton John is one of my favorites. Regardless of his sexual preferences, I think I'll continue to defend him on this one.

DUST OFF THE DEMONS INSIDE means, in terms of Sir Elton John's Lyrics: "Don't let the devil settle in"

And it won't be long

My point: If you dwell long enough...even the innocent can become wicked.

This is great for proving where your heart is at, I think: Those who are wicked will find wicked; thos who seek truth will find truth. Of course, those who seek Bernie Taupin will find Bernie Taupid.
