Mellow the first time I read that three Strikes you're out, I understood it the way you wanted us to understand, with adultery or big lies and such, not with small mistakes such as saying something bad or something that is easily forgivable with gentle rebuking.
But I can also understand how they did not understand, the phrasing wasn't the best :P or maybe putting more examples and details, but still you are right, Imagine your spouse committing adultery twice and you're still letting her remain with you lol. Of course we forgive even after 10 times but she would be out by the first time. Adultery is no joke, loss of trust and it breaks families.

Agreed Mellow!

Nobody likes to bud into your life when things are going wrong for you, since you said you are being attacked for being a liar. It seems the only time they do it is when you really are doing something wrong. Then people really love making a big scene and gossip about it. Because they are thankful that it wasn't them.

In other words, if someone is hurting you and saying things about you, expect no response from anybody. A lot of people don't have pity for good people.
Mellow ,

I am sorry if I misinterpreted the" three strikes your out "phrase and that is why sometimes it is hard when you are not talking personally to the person. By all means when it comes to adultery , yes I could not tolerate that either. But in that case like others I would have to say three times is over the top. Sorry for the mixup . Please accept my apologies.

Yes definately. I know I sometimes can keep details out of story, I need to not do that.

I know that alot would not give once a chance. I think alot of people are not forgiving after the first incident. So I just threw that idea in for maybe someone to consider. I got it from this passage

Titus 3:10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. 11You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Dusty it's okay. Nothing to be ashamed about. I know I was confusing.

That is true. but it is just scary that your spouse commits adultery.. The trust issues and so forth.. it would hurt so much also. So a second chance for adultery, TO ME, is a no! never! I'd rather live for Christ single than to accept my wife cheating on me once (that's if I get married xD ).

In the OT adulterous women got stoned to death. I can understand why, God wanted a clean environment so that it doesn't spread. The believing Jewish cared about how their town was free from these things more than this generation.

I can think of nothing more painful.
It does take much more strength to forgive than to hate and be bitter.

I hear you Ramsey..... Been there done that. I don't want to ever be there again. I just praise and thank my Lord for peace , deliverance forgiveness, and giving me a soft and tender heart to continue to walk in His ways and strenthen me day by day by not harbouring any bitterness or anger as I lay everything at the cross , knowing that He is able to keep me . It took me a lot of years to learn all those truths but now I will not let them go . I love my Jesus.
