Default Are you a 'early riser'?

It was importrant that the Jews got up early to gather the manna , because the hot desert sun would melt it.

Exodus 16:21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his
eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
The early risers of the Bible include ..

1. Abraham.

Gen 19:27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he
stood before the LORD:

Gen 21:14; 22:3.

2. Jacob .

Gen 28:18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he
had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil
upon the top of it.

3. Moses.

Exodus 8:20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and
stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say
unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may
serve me.
Exodus 9:13; 24:4.

4. Joshua.

Joshua 3:1 And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from
****tim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and
lodged there before they passed over.

Joshua 3:6.

5. Samuel.

I Samuel 15:12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was
told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him
up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to
Gilgal.

6. Job.

Job 1:5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about,
that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning,
and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for
Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in
their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

7. David.

Psalm 57:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will
awake early.
108:2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

8. And Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mark1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out,
and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

There is no substitute for a daily time alone with God.

Yay I read somewhere that it was wrong, but this has helped me prove otherwise Thanks !! I was struggling a tiny bit to know if it was ok to wake up early and have morning worship or services or I'm not sure what..
Maybe early morning services are wrong? I have no clue! but God is to be worshiped at all times

I rise early, but not by choice. My boys have me up around 6-6:30 every day!

I agree that it is a good idea to get up early, have a quiet time with God, and begin your day with prayer. I wish this is something that I could get in the habit of doing. Usually my morning awakenings are not very pleasant, especially when I don't get to bed until very late the night before because of doing schoolwork, and then I am up all night feeding the new baby.

I get up early every morning, to drink coffee, pray and read the bible. I'm a morning person, I love the mornings, they are quiet and peaceful (unlike the rest of my day).

Although it may be true that the "early" bird get's the worm.

It can also be said that the "second" mouse,..... gets the cheese.

I'm a cheese lover.

Sunny peaceful mornings = the best

The best time to read the word of God is before sunrise.
