I love CFS but I'm almost afraid to ask questions for fear of offending someone, cause it seems to happen half the time I speak. So if I come across as rude please someone let me know. I'm really sensitive and I get upset when I upset someone.

Anyway, my question was answered. Thanks everyone.

Have you ever seen this type of behavior during church? Just wondering, cause I've never seen it before.

Don't worry sis - you made it clear, aren't being rude, and my post isn't judgment or anger or anything. Just an FYI for the general public, not a "DON'T JUDGE!" kinda thing towards you.

So are ya going back to that church?

Thanks, Mark and Who and Bo

I may-it was pretty cool. The music was so loud and it was really fun.

I understand the feeling of walking into a new church and feeling that something isn't quite right; whether we actually judge it to be or not is not the issue, we just have to question "why" someone is flailing their arms in the air...

I went to a new church yesterday close to me because of some car problem I thought it wise not to drive 20 miles and drove 3 instead. It was a nice, worshipful church; they had young and old and everything in between but as I am NOT accustomed to; they hardly responded at all in worship or prayer. I was sitting on my hands with my mouth taped shut (not really; just felt like it). Everyone worships differently.

There was only one church that I did attend for sometime and something questionable occurred (the pastor) and I heard "don't be part of this" in my spirit and I asked the Lord what I should do and he told me to leave. I got up and left and a dear brother followed me out to ask me if I didn't believe in what was going on. I told him, that if the Word of God is being contradicted in any way that we as christians should not agree also...
I also told him that the Lord told me not to be part of it and that I loved the church, I loved the pastor and him and his family but I had to leave....

Ask the Lord for discernment and wisdom. He will guide you with His Holy Spirit. Better to question and ask Him than to just accept anything that man says or does...trust God instead....

Indeed we must use discernment. Often people who have found freedom in their worship will cause religious spirits to rise up in others- and these ones they never knew they even had.
What I am saying is that it is easy to respond out of religiosity and think it is God if you do not listen very carefully.

Does the Holy Spirit cause people to fall backwards or to make gestures like this?

Yes , this is the norm in my church as well and if you are tuned in to the Holy Spirit and are worshipping Him in spirit and in truth all these evidences will become common nature . I understand if you have never been accustomed to this kind of worship that it would be a little puzzling but as you enter in and are drawn by the Holy Spirit and totally worshipping Him, who alone is worthy you ,will not even see what is happening around you but the presence of the Holy Spirit will become so real to you that you don't know how He will manifest in your life. God Bless and as you seek for more of Him , may you be blessed.

Just to clarify my statement- this is not a statement about anyone else but just part of my personal Christian experience as God has delivered me from many things.
