I've heard of communal living by groups of people from new york who are successfully living together, growing their own food and even teaching their kids, living happy lives. I'm sure it can be done today. Look it up on the internet.

Theres a handful of homes like that downtown in one of the cities where I live and in downtown Miami as well. We can but most dont.

I think there are examples of people doing this successfully, but in the time this was originally done, it was for a purpose, to establish the Church, I dont think it was to set a precedent.

We also have home church groups that is a movement all over the world where the pastors do not take any money but depend on the people for food and lodging and when they travel the people give them money.

There is a home church near me and I see the parisioners bringing food and dishes all the time and I often wonder how the family survives because the husband does not work and says he is the pastor ,and the wife home schools the children... five of them. But that is an example of God will provide.

That sounds too much like communal living, and that's something I can't and won't do. I tried and didn't like it(Just living in the same house and not the sharing)--especially since I got ripped off.

They were so convinced that they were at the end of time that possessions didn't matter anymore. What they did had a good spirit, but you will notice that the Jerusalem Christians remained in poverty long after that. Paul for one had to raise money for them.
