Default Car wreck

Driving back from town today a woman came round the corner too fast in her little peugeot and hit the kerb and completely flipped the car hitting a lampost.
She was knocked unconscious and as the car doors flew open a baby's car seat and bottle etc all flew out.
I ran to the car while my 10 yr old called the emergency services.
A couple of other people stopped and started smashing the window to get her out, I said I thought it better to leave her as we didnt know what injuries she had and it could make things worse, but they thought she may be unable to breathe due to her position and smoke was coming from the car so they pulled her.
Fortunately there wasnt a baby onboard , someone else must have been looking after it, thank God for that.
It was all very alarming,
I think she was ok though and will make a good recovery, but do you know the saddest thing?
It happened right outside of our local hospital, which now has no emergency room due to the run down of the service by the government, she had to travel nine miles to the nearest Accident unit, it really makes me cross that a large town like mine has a skeletal hospital service due to penny pinching beaurocracy.
So much for the NHS.

We hope that the injuries were not severe...

It is indeed unfortunate that governmentalized health care is being FORCED upon persons, now, in numerous countries. We have NOT had to go that route as yet in the US, but members of a certan 'political party' are attempting to 'socialize' medicine here as well. SOCIALISM just doesn't work in a democracy and it is about time that the PEOPLE understand that, get involved in the procedure and tell their political representatives to leave things as they have been. But, history tells us that very few persons will ever voice their complaints, so we can just hope for the best...

I am praying for all involved. Generally government is the least efficient way to run anything.

Glad to hear she will be okay...

I second Pastor Gary's remarks, my wife is English and has nothing but horror stories about NHS.

Thing is they keep telling us 'it is free hospital care', which it is at the point of service, but we have to pay national insurance as well as income tax.
The national insurance is more than we would pay for a private policy for health care, and yet we are told, 'dont moan, it's free, arent you lucky' etc.

Well , I don't think any one is immune to that as they tell us ours is free as well but now as a senior I have to pay for most stuff and for me without a pay check , I avoid a lot of things like dental and eye checks cause i have to pay and now my family doctor sends me a letter telling me all the services that are not covered.

Well , I just pray to the Lord, ask Him to keep me in good health, eat right , exercise and He will see me through .... No use moaning about it . I worked for 45 years in this great country of Canada.... God is my provider not Canada. I have to say that I am happy to be here when I see what third world countries have to suffer. I am thankful for the small things.
