If you are one of those (who like me) keeps an eye on trends in behavior of governments, you will have noticed that 'Big Brother' has been quite busy in England over the last few years. Aside from the ubiquitous cameras and rather over-the-top "you are being watched" posters in the subways, they now have deputy cops (PCOs) which have the power to interrogate and detain any person for any reason (such as looking suspicious, whatever the #@}} that means).

Nope , It wouldn't whirlwind cause I am sorry, there are too many sick preditors out there . We had an example of that a few years back where a mother did that, locked the door on her teenage daughter and some one came long and kidnapped , rapped and killed her . I feel sorry for the mom as she will never forgive herself.

I saw one of our tribal elders in town the other day. She stopped me and told me how she sent her grandson out to the car because he was misbehaving in the store. She was being charged with child abuse! Hoo-boy.
![]() Yeah, Dusty, it wouldn't work today because my mom would be charged with child abuse, too. I was 15, hee hee. But oh boy, I knew it all! ![]() I learned though. Eventually. ![]() Also my tribe made national news some years back because the judge sentenced a juvenile to the Whipman. The whipman is a cultural figure in our tribe...once, he traveled from house to house. It was his duty to administer punishment, and the parents paid him for this job. The Oregonian picked up on this story, and it all went haywire. People said it was cruel. Tribal members said it was cultural, and it had to be enforced. In the end, the girl was whipped by the whipman. Come to think of it...that's the last time she was ever in court.

Having grown up on military bases, we always had a curfew..... of course, my parents also had their own curfew, which was usually earlier than the one set by the base. When I was 18 I still was required to be home by 10 pm.
I don't know about where other people live, but the places that I have lived there is nothing to do past 10pm, so there really is no need for young people to be roaming the streets anyhow. And if there ever was a place open later than 10pm (such as a teen club) then those places are not usually the type of places you would want your child hanging out at. |

I'm afraid to say that most Christians are quite nieve when it comes to losing their freedoms. For some reason the majority of Christian 'Conservatives' always seem to believe that if the leader of their party claims they are a Christian, then it must be true.
As Christians we should be judging them by their actions, not their words, and the actions of most politicians speak volumes! |
