Believe me we are the worst kind, we tend to think, ok God hasnt done it so I will, I have learnt the hard way that if God doesnt do it, dont dare do it.
I am experiencing a brokeness and new dependancy on Him, I am realisning that independence is as rebellion.
Tough lesson but I am very grateful.
But you know what independence is worse when you live by yourself cause you think you need to have it to survive. I always wanted my independence and to not rely on others .

Thanks for that , Jax cause I did not understand why I was feeling broken and had pushed a very good friend away but being alone with God has also taught me ..... I am not alone in myself but He is there every step of the way. I need to surrender more and more to Him. I know that I depend on the Lord , but do I give Him my all ?

There's kind of a process to brokenness. A progression or advancement of sorts. If you are a good steward of the things of God you are promoted to servanthood. If you are a good servant (of all) you are promoted to slave. The next promotion down is bond slave (a willing slave). Did I miss any?

Dusty my prayers are with you.
My Dad is similar , he is just 68 and I know God has so much for him, but because of fear and independence he stays in his comfort zone,
I am praying that through His love, my dad's walls will be broken down and he will see that true freedom is living in, and trusting God's will.

Thanks Jax... I understand where your dad is coming from as you know I am the same age. Lots of times , I stay indoors but don't know if it is because of comfort zone or just because I have no one my age to do things with and hate doing things by myself.

I think summer for some reason is worse as a lot of things that I attend are not functioning ... small groups, volunteer work etc and can't really understand why but others are busy with their lives and families and activities so I guess that is why. I do not have any family here except my son and he never even calls to see how I am.

Amen , Mellow that is so true. But I believe we need to be healed first before we can minister to others. For me that took time and a lot of submission to God . And it is also an on going quest as well.

James 5:7-11

Patience in Suffering

7.....Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.

8....You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. 9Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

10.....Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

11....As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

As always, I usually think in song...

Won't you hear my cry, God?
See the state I'm in.
I know my transgressions are before me,
My righteousness is rags.
My sacrifice to you is this broken heart.
It's all I have, it's all I can give, and it won't go very far...

'Cause it's broken. Broken.
Please heal this broken heart today.
Don't turn it away because it's...broken!

Have mercy on me, God.
Do I stand condemned?
Let me know the joy and thanksgiving,
God, take away my sin.
I wanna know what it is, God,
To have that faith,
To keep on runnin', keep on going,
Put that strength in me.

Cause I'm broken. Broken.
To see myself as I really am, a weak, broken man.
And I'm broken. Broken.
Please heal this broken heart today,
Don't turn it away because it's...broken.
Broken, broken,
Oh, yes, I'm broken.

I stand before you now...
