Well, I think if you openly look at this, it is saying God does not care about you unless you look for him, or praise him. Therefore, when we take the explanation as noted by that story, God does not care about people of other religions, or even new born babies, since they do not have the capacity, mentally, to appreciate God. This is a very flawed explanation when you look into it, I believe.
