Yes my son , I understand that some do not believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and that's ok but for me if I did not have that infilling daily after experiencing it,, to me, it is a comfort to feel His presence in my ups and downs of life. to me it is the deeper walk that I am seeking and He is new every morning and gives me substance and meat to chew. That's the only way I can describe my experience with the Holy Spirit. And it is not that I ask for more but that I ask what can I do more for Him that he fills and refills. Sorry I am not expressing myself well. But I think you understand what I am saying.

revlynn seems to be right on the money. You can only have the Holy Spirit in his fullness, yet your sanctification will continue after justification, untill you've reached glorification.

Those He predestined, He called, those He called He justified, Those He justified, He glorified.

Well brother, I was 27 when I received Christ and at times I wonder why He didn't save me earlier. I sinned an awful lot (and not just "little" sins either) in those 27 years, but God does EVERYTHING in His time. I was then a Christian for 33 years before God filled me with His Holy Spirit (no I'm not speaking of tongues either.) Again I don't know why He waited 33 years to touch me, but to repeat myself, God does EVERYTHING in His time. (Ecc 3:1.) Praise Him for His indescribable Gift!

Maybe because you did not seek Him and ask? God is not to blame. It is on our shoulders, and making the right decision to follow Him.

A Quote from a friend that I thought was timely......

To grow in the Spirit , it takes effort like building muscles we need to build on it or we lose it.

FW,

Your theory sounds good, but what does God's word say? According to Romans 3:11 and Psalm 53:2, no one seeks for God! "Romans 3:11 "There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God." To seek for God would require a little righteousness on our part but what has God said about our righteousness? "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags..." (Isa 64:6) It is only by God's great mercy that we are saved. "But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, He saved us, not based on any righteousness we had done, but because of His great mercy. He saved us by the washing of rebirth and renewed us by the Holy Spirit." (Titus 3:4-5)

Jesus said in John 15:16, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." Jesus again said in John 15:19, "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."

So God is the One who does the choosing, not us! God must draw us to Himself, John 6:44, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day." We were "chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit that you may obey Jesus Christ..."(1 Peter1:2) Why would we seek God? Before God chose us we were at enmity with Him! Col 1:21, "Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior."

God has always been the One to do the choosing. Even in the Old Testament, the Amelikites, the Jebusites, the Edomites, the Philistines, the Egyptians, etc, etc, were not His chosen people, Israel was.

God has always been sovereign over all of His creation, God is currently sovereign over all of His creation, and God always will be sovereign over all of His creation, or,......... He ain't God!
