Yeah, Tolkien had great Christian symbolism in his books. It was overtly there but just the things he had were good. Subtle, but there.
Who's been whining Near?

I am sure it is better than this makes it look:

You know how people are, B.
It's not anyone here. I forget all those websites where people were complain about the "Christianity" in certain books. I probably forget because it was just so silly.

Jesus came here not condemn, but to save.

Nature is God's gift to us. He loves it as much as He loves us, and we should give respect to Nature because believe it or not - it takes care of me and you more than you know.

I just love reading (mostly Koontz and King - but there's some fantasy novels in there from time to time).

I also love to write.

If something is moving you to write fantasy, you should go for it with everything that you have, girl!

I like to write horror-scifi. I was troubled about this a while back and I asked the pastor about this. When God gives us a talent and we don't use it, let it go to waste, that's the real sin, he told me. Sit down quietly before I start to write and thank Him for the talent. Promise Him that you're going to use that talent not for your own glory...but for His. Who knows? Something that you write may one day spark an interest inside of someone who has never thought of coming closer to our Lord. They may feel the itch to seek Him out then.

Let the Lord God fan into flames your talent. But remember, there's all kinds of people out there. Some of them are scary and do some pretty horrible things. One of your characters may become that type of person, and it can be disturbing sometimes to try to keep in contact with that character long enough to tell a story.

I just love to hear when people are inspired to write a book (whatever type it is)! It can be a really lonely life, as you spend a lot of time mingling with your characters and staying in a room typing all day long. But when you get the beat going really good...it's terribly addicting!

God bless you and remember! Write for God's glory. Never think about big royalty checks or movies, etc. Just have fun with what God has given you!
