I went fishing today.
Guess what I had for dinner. That’s right… a steak sandwich. I must have been using some bad tasting worms. ![]() ![]() ![]() So... what's the biggest fish you ever caught?

Seventeen pound chanel cat
I love to fish. Standing or sitting on the bank of a beautiful river, lake or pond feeling the wind and sun. Resting and relaxing in anticipation of action from the water. Remembeing how fresh fish lightly seasoned perfectly prepared pleases the taste buds. Shucks . . . sometimes I get into it so much I use bait. ![]() Cliff

But one day - A 7+ foot Sturgeon ![]() It's when I catch the tiny ones that makes me laugh. ![]() Sometimes, they're barely bigger than the bait. ![]()

My biggest is a 12 pound carp. Next biggest was a 4 pound Northern. Them northerns is slimey and got them little bones, but they are one of the best tasting fish out there.
When I buy fish at the store, I find the prices outrageous. However, if I were to figure out how much I have spent per pound of fillet to catch my own, I think I would find the storebought fish a bargain.

A Catfish!
![]() Only ever caught fish bigger then my hand when I was a wee lad at those man made fishing lake things. Only fish a couple times in this big lake in Idaho when visiting Grandparents, and only catch some fish thats too small for feedins but that we're supposed to kill anyways because they're not native to the river/lake place.

My 'fishing' is a bit different from what has already been discussed here. When I 'fish', I cast for new Christians. We are shown in John 21 (KJV) that if we fish off the RIGHT side of the boat, the net will be filled with the multitudes. 'Fishing' off the LEFT side of the boat is a general waste of time.
John 21:6 (KJV), "6 And he said unto them, "Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes." As it goes with fish, so it goes with man... (think about that and you'll see what I mean.) "Christianity is the RIGHT way. Satan's doctrines are what is LEFT." [About 7 years ago, I reeled in a 240 pound 'agnostic'... the biggest 'fish' that I have caught as yet...] |

When I was younger I loved to fish. My mom taught me how to fish and also how to clean the fish. She learned from her father who was an avid fisherman. When we lived in Hawaii, he came out and they went fishing-- catching Mahi Mahi and Swordfish.
I haven't been fishing in a great many years, but since we moved out here I look forward to going. My mom and I have plans to take the kids. |
