We had a awesome Bible study at church tonight. The regular teacher wasn't there, so it was a do-your-own-thing night. My husband came and had a lot of questions. It started a good study. Anyway, here are some things Norm and I learned.

First off, Norm mentioned that He believed in God and that he had been a Christian since he was born he thought, and that he helped as many people as he could. This made one of them bring up the verse in Matt. about how God will determine if you be able to "enter in. "Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

He asked Norm if he could tell him, from this verse, how God would determine if he would get into Heaven. Both Norm and I looked and looked, and finally I found the words, "I never knew you." It spoke volumes. It takes time for a person to get to know someone enough to really love them and "know" them. You have to develope a relationship with them, talk to them, listen to them, learn about them, study them.

We talked about Heaven because Norm has always told me Heaven will probably be boring if all we do is sing and praise God. He doesn't like my Christian music. So this guy told about all the things the Bible says about it and about our new physical bodies. Perfect eye sight and no hearing loss, etc. That sounded pretty good to Norm. We also talked about the series of books by Tim Lahay, Left Behind. Norm read all of them and thought they were really exciting, until he came to the last one and he said it was disappointing. I don't know because I have not read them.

The Rapture came up in our discussion and I was surprised to hear that a couple of the people there did not believe in it. So, we had a good discussion about that. I think I have made up my mind about the Rapture finally.

I am just so glad we went tonight and that Norm came along. We wished we could go on all night. How was your night?

Yeah, Mark. I know I probably have heard that verse before, but it all of a sudden just "dawned" on me and I understood it, as did Norm, at the same time. God is so good.
