I do not claim to be an authority in this area and perhaps my writing is my thinking out loud as much as anything else. The good news is we (His sheep) know His voice. ![]()

God can and does use angels today, just as He has throughout human history. There have been documented cases of angels appearing to leaders of other faiths (eg Islam) who would never have responded to the normal preaching of the Gospel, and turning them to faith in Christ.
However, God's normal method of working is not through angels, but through men. How do we test revelation through angels? Exactly the same way as we test revelation through any other source. Does it line up with the Word of God? Does it line up with the character of God? Is it true? Is it bringing us closer to God or drawing us away from Him? The most important thing is that we get to know God and His Word. When we know His Word and His heart, we will readily recognize what is false. blessings, Lynn

Agreed Bon, we will know his voice. I am sure we have all had that "sneek'n suspicion" that something just aint right, deep in our gut.
Its always good to get a second opinion. I was told once to get the opinions of three other Christians, be it elders, decons, pastors or whatever.... if I ever had doubts. |

The bible states that Jesus Christ is the foundation upon which we build our faith, He is the corner stone or capstone. Everything we believe should be based upon Him and what He taught. Anything that goes against His teachings or the fact that He is God the Son, is not of God but from the deciever.
I suppose it would be very easy to get caught up in the experience when an angelic being speaks to us. We should not rely on emotion but rather the facts. We must rely on the prompting of the Holy Spirit, but also how many of us (present company included) have misheard the Holy Spirit due to emotion or our own slanted beliefs. Angels are warriors and messengers sent by God for various purposes. They may bring revelation but when it comes to doctrines and issues of faith, God has given us His word which is all we really need. Anything added or taken away is not of God. Yellow Jacket, I agree with you, if we are in doubt then take the message or whatever it is to the elders and pastors and let them help test the contents against the word of God. In the time we are living in now it is going to be crucial that we are still building on the correct foundations.
