Boanerges you have missed the point. You're nitpicking terminology. Changes to the "gospel" are exactly what the moslems, mormons, and various sundry heretics and heathen claim.

I think you misunderstand me. I am not nitpicking and I believe the Mormon and Islamic manifestations are demonic. The reference to the Christian visitations are entirely different- God used angelic messengers from Genesis to Revelations and they are simply to be tested by the Word of God.

Beware of those who teach that you can receive a revelation from angels.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead He split the Holy of Hollies so that we may have access to the throne of grace and so that we could talk to the Father. When Jesus left, He left us the comforter, the Holy Spirit to indwell the believer. When we were born again of the spirit, The Indwelling Holy spirit was given to us as a seal, as a guide. Jesus gave us His word and through the person of the Holy Spirit, He will guide us into all truths. If we have God as our Father, Jesus as our Savior and Lord, The Holy Spirit as our guide who reveals the word of truth to us. I do not think that God is going to send a angel as a messenger to reveal something that has already been revealed through His word and by His Spirit. |

Beware of John the Revelator? Much of what was given Him was through angelic beings.

Just my point! Boanerges, Have you not received the fullness of the Holy Spirit? When you pray, do you pray to the Father or to an angel? When you need an answer from God do you seek for a angel to appear to receive some revelation or do you turn to God through His Son Jesus? Is God, not enough? Is Jesus not enough? Is the Holy Spirit not enough to reveal His will for our life? Quote:

I simply do not limit God
. I am not accepting or condemning the folks that say they have spoken to angels. I have never been talked to by an angel but if one did their word would be judged the same way as yours or mine- by the Word of God.There is no scripture given to us that says they cannot or will not be used by God to communicate and although it is often the weaker in faith that need signs I do not claim to have a restriction on these beings- Angel basically translates messenger does it not.

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (KJV) Jesus and those He appointed have told us all He is going to reveal. God has given us everything from the beginning of time until the end of the age and the new heaven and new earth. What else can He say to us? There are enough doctrines given us to live holy, reprove the world and win the lost to Christ. What else do we need when we ignore most of what He has already given us? Why give more revelation when we don't use what we have? |

Perhaps one day we will meet and I will give you a great hug in Jesus Name.
![]() God speaks to me every day- I am learning and growing. Again I am not talking to angels but I am not limiting God. Even the 5 fold ministries are still active today, God speaks to me by His Spirit, through His Word, through another man of God- many ways actually.

Bon: I have heard discussions on this. I always thought the first person who spoke to him was Jesus himself. Then after that it would be fairly safe to say that the angels that he was with later were ordained by Christ himself. Whats your take on this. I agree that we have to be careful with angels giving us direction and information. Decernment is high on the list. It could be tough to tell if they are of God or not unless we keep our hearts on Jesus and stay in his Word. I just figured that if God was allowing one of his angels to speak to me that it would be fairly obvious that the angel was of God. I think God would assure me that it was a message from him so that there was no room for error. |

I must say that I have felt probably an angelic being around me as protection in many , many instances but cannot say an angel has ever talked to me. God has promised that angels will watch over me but to talk to one .... hey to each his own but for me God talks to me through His Holy Word and the Holy Spirit is with me moment by moment, directing me as I submit to Him. Holy Spirit is the One who comforts and speaks to me. I can say that He walks with me and He talks with me and tells me I am His own and the joy I share with Him is all that I need. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
