When I pray, I ask GOD to make people do things for me. E.g.: I have racist tutors in my class. So I ask GOD to make him be friends with me. Now this is a prayer asking GOD to do something that that guy doesn’t like doing (against the will of man). He doesn’t like to be friends with me but I ask GOD to make him be friends with me. Some tutors want to fail me from exams and assignment and I ask GOD to make them pass me from those test and assignments.
I ask GOD to make some one do something that he (the man) doesn’t like doing (against man’s will), would I be committing sin by asking such things? |

We can pray and ask God to soften a heart , we can sow love in Jesus wonderful Name but it is the Holy Spirit that changes a man's heart Leonidus.

Hi Leonidus,
God gave man free will, and He will never violate that will by forcing someone to do something he/she does not want to do. However, He sometimes does things to encourage people to become willing. An example is when He sent hornets to drive out one of the nations from the land of Canaan ahead of the people of Israel. He didn't force them to go against their will, but if your home was overrun by hornets you would probably become willing to leave very quickly!! More importantly, however, in any problem relationship the only person we can really change - or ask God to change - is us. Instead of praying for God to change the other person, try asking God to show you that person through His eyes. Ask Him to let you see their potential, what they could be in Christ, and to give you His love for them. Let that flow into your attitudes and reactions to them, and you will be amazed at the changes that will come in them in response. blessings, Lynn

As I just saw the title to this thread again a thought came to my mind . Don't ask God what He can do for you but ask God what you can do for Him

A funny thing happens when we start to pray for the salvation of people like these Leonidus- our heart begins to change towards them, our compassion and love can sometimes break down the walls between us.

Dude: Sorry you are getting some stick in class. major downer. If its a race thing will pale into insignificance when you share the gospel with them, that is REAL persecution, beyond that of skin colour.
Get some context about what you are asking and to WHOM it is - Isa 6:1 etc. Wrestle in prayer with God on this, but you can't make God do anything or demand of Him anything - Job 38:4. You may be asking a miss here guy - Jam 4:3. Or maybe I am just picking up the wrong tone in your email..... Peace sir! Brad M |
