As Christians we need to study the Word and live it more:
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:3-10, KJV) Satan is obviously acquainted with Scripture, so we can never assume we know enough. Do we want to be like our Lord Jesus Christ, or do we want to be tricked by Satan...hmm...it's a good question to ponder. Read your Bibles tonight, I know I will be doing just that.

It is of course right to be in the Word, for it is our foundation, but even more important is to spend time in the presence of the One of whom scripture is written, in prayer, always making sure that we have cleansed our hearts through the Blood of Jesus, so that we can hear Him clearly.
It is a balance of both, we have to be careful we dont become religious, knowing the scriptures but missing the heart of God. The Pharicee's knew a lot about scripture but their hearts were far from God. Hope this doesnt look argumentative, not my intention, just think we can make people feel that reading the Bible is the extent of our relationship.

And I am so bent on telling people to read The Deeper Christian Life, posted in the general section that I am here to do just that.

Thanks Azarias..... There is no better place to be than in the Word . God"s Word has stood the test of times and His Holy Book is still the best seller.
