Default Don't be 'appetized'!

I have to share this story because it was HILARIOUS.

At VBS this year, I was volunteering by helping with shepherding around some 5 year olds. We were at Bible study, when one girl blurts out in the middle of the Gospel account: "Jesus was appetized!" (in the way only a little child can! )

Everyone contained their laughter as one of the instructors corrected her to say "baptized".

I think it's really cute the way little kids pronounce words. a little girl in a song pronounce the word "iniquity" as "eliquity", and she pronounced the word "hallelujah" as "halleyujah". A boy once sang the song "Victory in Jesus". Instead of singing "He plunged me to victory" in the chorus, he sang "He punched me to victory."

When my older sons were small we used to sing a song at church titled Alpha and Omega.
My boys who were then 4 & 5 used to sing Alpha & John Major who was our then Prime Minister !
Either they misheard or he was pretty important to them !

Little boy came home from Sunday School and proudly announced to his mother that he knew the name of God.

"Oh," she asked, "and what is it?"

"Hasentu," the little fellow replied.

His mother was puzzled. "Who told you that?" she asked.

"Our Sunday School teacher. She told us that God told Moses to tell the Israelites, 'I am Hasentu'." (has sent you)

blessings,

Lynn

The visual imagery induced by that last (mis)statement gave my my laugh for the day. Thanks, Jon-Marc.

Yes Jon - Mark.... The simplicity of little children. We had baby blessing yesterday and as the pastor said that is exactly why Jesus said we must become like little children ... so trusting, so vibrant, just doing what comes into their little heads, so acepting , so loving, We have a lot to learn from little children.
