The deeds of the Nicolaitans (Revelation 2:6, 15) By adding in the following, the list grows to 45 things God hates: 44. "You shall not set up a sacred pillar, which the LORD your God hates" (Deuteronomy 16:22). 45. "I hate, I despise, your feast days" (Amos 5:21). This goes with Isaiah 1:14: "Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates." You may have heard the expression, "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner." Although that is not a biblical statement per se, it has been accepted as a true statement. But after reviewing this list, that may not be such a sure conviction. What do you think? |

I understand what you are saying, but didnt God get Hosea to marry a prostitute?
Yes God does hate sin, but He also knows that, in and of ourselves, we are held captive to it, we were born with rebellious hearts, He still loves us and He still has a plan for us. It is only through Jesus Christ we can be set free. So I would say, yes God HATES sin, but He loves the sinner, we only have to read what Jesus says about coming for the sinner to see that.

well contrary to this. i think we are born with a sin nature.. we are born willingly able to sin.. and example is easy... you never have to teach a child to do wrong.. it comes natural to them. you have to teach them the right things to do..
i believe we are born with a hart that is longing for God.. even though people some times do not realize what their hearts are longing for.. they atempt to fill it with other things. but God is what they really are longing for. Jeremiah 24:6-7 6 For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. 7 Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.

Jesus loved the sinners and was found with them all the time so we cannot discredit the fact that God dislikes sin .Christ loved the unlovely just where they were at in their lives. Love is unconditional and brings the sinner to his or her knees. Christ did not condemn the sinner. I don't like to say hate because I don't think in my mind God "hates.".
We are all born in sin and it is our choice whether we accept Christ or reject Him. To say that we were born rebellious no, I can't say that . I can say that we become rebellious when we do not accept Christ. I was rebellious when I walked away from my Saviour for a number of years but praise God , returned and accepted Him anew and a fresh.

I hate the saying "love the sinner, hate the sin"
because the sinner only hears "hate the sin" and interprets it as "you hate me" Better to say God loves you. He loves you so much that He desires something better for you than what you have right now. IMO Ginger |

That which He says He hates He must hate or be a liar- He is no liar.
