Well, it's pretty cool over here in Southern California - the weather finally decided to be nice so we got some sunshine. It's only 70+ but it should get warmer by next Friday, 95 is expected, ugh.

Well, enough with the temperature: me and my mom didn't do much. We're not really party hoppers but she did go out with my grandfather for brunch and they went to the EXPO Design Centre to look at kitchen remodeling.

Me and my grandmother hung out, drove around, and I played with my dog and birds. I might go star gazing tonight in my backyard, it's been pretty clear these past days...hopefully it won't cloud up.

Well, my husband are here in England on this Mother's Day and we spent the day in London. It was delightful weather here, just beautiful. We think we brought our Iowa weather her for the Brits. It was about 80 here today. I really hoped we'd be able to attend a church, but Norm had planned a tour ahead of time and so was not able. I will try to find a church here to attend a mid-week service or Bible study. As far as Mother's day, we didn't really do anything more special than being in London!! "Kids" are at home in U.S. Bonnie

Ah, I miss London! I remember we visited when I was 8 and I love the place! I hope we can visit if we really do plan on going to Greece or Spain this summer. Though, I want to visit Dubai for my B-Day, I want to see some Arabian horses...and have fun!

I was sick all morning (the joys of pregnancy). After "breakfast" the kids gave me my mother's day gifts that they had made. My daughter had made a beautiful string art of flowers and it was framed. My 6 year old son had a little booklet that he made in school. I always like in those little booklets when they have the page of question and answers. Let me share what my son's said.......

Why I love my mom:
Answer: Because she loves me.

What does she look like?
Answer: Blonde hair.

What makes her mad?
Answer: Nothing.

What I do to help her:
Answer: Take stuff upstairs.

What she does to help me:
Answer: She helps me with my schoolwork.

What my mother does best:
Answer: Cooking.

When is she the happiest?
Answer: When my little brother doesn't get in trouble.

When is she the prettiest?
Answer: All the time.

Why does mother love me?
Answer: Because I love her.

I just loved his answers. Aren't they the sweetest? I love kids answers at that age because they are so pure and honest..... even when you don't want them to be. Soooo..... back to my day...... After breakfast we went to church. The sermon was on various women from the Bible. After church, our congregation eats together. We had ham, side items, etc. It was all really good. (I'd tell you all about our new church, but this really isn't the thread for it.) After church, I came home and took a much needed nap. My little one has been waking me up at 5 or 6 every morning with the sun. Then the rest of the day I have spent working on my school papers, with breaks in between.

  • Church
  • Lunch/Dinner which son cooked: Smoked turkey cooked on grill, green beans, noodle dish, sour cream pound cake (his wife cooked the cake). Shared with his family, his wife's mother, my husband, and I.
  • Went to Mom's nursing/rehab home. She was having some sort of episode that I had to engage nurse to evaluate. Mom came around and stabilized, but it is just a reminder that I've had Mom longer than I will have her. Am trying to learn to let go. Lessons are hard.
  • Had a visit from daughter (I have 5 children) and her family. Nice time was had by all.
  • Had a phone call from each of the other 3. Represent: California, West Virginia, & Georgia.

Praise God Granny,

Sorry about your mom. Praying for her.

"That's my mom"

4 YEARS OF AGE My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE Wish I could talk it over with Mom.....
