Romans 12:3, " . . . God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." (KJV)
To me "the" measure of faith means that no one is given more faith than another. At birth we are all given the same measure of faith, but it is up to us to cultivate it. As small children the Holy Spirit guides our parents to help us cultivate our faith. As adults we are responsible for exercising our own faith with God's help. What do some of you think?

The YLT and the ASV word it as “a” measure of faith.
I believe we all start out the same, but it’s up to us to develop our faith. As we don’t have the same spiritual gifts, I don’t think we all have the same spiritual faith. Not because God didn’t give it to us, but because of what we do with it. Thomas comes to mind. I think he had less faith than the rest of them. And Peter… he had the faith to walk on the water, but when he took his focus off of Jesus, he started to sink. He lost the faith he needed to stay on top of the water in an instant.

I see "Faith" is inherant in us all. With faith, is how God made us. That is "the", "a" measure scripture is speaking of.
Faith to some extent is like money of the spirit. We can spend it on the wrong things and have it no more, hide it were inflation eventualy renders it inadiquate or we can invest it in God's economy and it will increase not only in ourselves but in those who we impact with the expression and demonstration of it.
