Cross

I hear people say all the time. This is Hell on Earth and then you die..

To the Christian person this phrase is very true. This is as close to Hell as we will ever get, because when we die, we walk in the presence of the Lord. But the sad side of this coin is that to the lost person, this is as close to Heaven as they will ever get, because when they die, they walk into the boundaries of Hell (well after Judgment of course).

Default hierarchy of hell

The hierarchy of Hell is the same as any hierarchy involving the godless.
The stronger command and torment the weaker, all control is achieved through threats of violence. Humans, when damned, are the weakest in Hell and are tormented at will by all there. Satan and his angels hate and despise all humans and do not live up to any agreements. So, that said, those who think they have made a "deal with the devil' have a very rude surprise coming. I have read the book, and find no reason to disbelieve him outright.

I've seen a numerous stories like this one posted all over YouTube, with varying degrees of authenticity.

I think what he's saying is the truth. I've seen hell, too. I believe God showed me in a dream. I saw a scorched earth. The sun was white-hot, the sky was a dark blood red. Just like he described, the heat was intense, like you should die, but you can't. And the toxic sulfur air. That's what I saw of hell.

Lightbulb

I try not to focus on the negatives and I suggest you all do the same. God tells us to seek him and his word, He doesn't say to examine or know about the evil things. When we were reborn we became a new creation and we are in constant combat for this body with ourselves as sin tried relentlessly to destroy us from within. If I want to see Hell I only have to look at my past life and realize how much destruction I have done. God tells us to forget our past and to focus on the now and the future. He promises to not remember our sins so we should follow suite and don't give him any reason to remember ours.

I have a different view of what hell might be....the Bible says there will be tormentors......but my thought is that those tormentors might be memories. I have thought that hell would be total darkness....totally alone. Left only with thoughts and the knowledge that God was rejected and the torment of the mind will be agony.

Total darkness....totally alone with yourself and the knowledge of your choice....for eternity. Sounds like torment to me.

I agree - that would be awful!

To be away from God, too...the absence of his presence, being that far away from him, that would be the worst torture possible.

I like what Bo said, too...0 minutes in hell. Jesus washes me clean and makes me new - so I'll never see hell, praise His name!

I believe like Heaven, Hell will be a place that words just can not explain. Both Heaven and Hell are at both extremes. Listen to what Paul say's. Here is one of the most beautiful writters in the New Testment. When Paul was given a glimpse of Heaven, all Paul could write was this..

1Cr 2:9 Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I believe Hell will be the same, words just could not explain the torment of this place.
