i was wondering whether you guys think that symbols are important in a spiritual way in todays society.

there are lots of special numbers which pop up again and again in the bible, some meaning fullness ect, some meaning bad things (google for numbers in the bible) i was wondering if this carries over into symbols? (i know that some denominations use the cross a lot where others think its bad to worship a symbol ect)

although they arent mentioned in the bible (as far as a know) pentagrams (5 sided stars, drawn with 5 lines) have lots negativity attatched to them, i read that they were used in witchcraft practices ect, and are used in satanist logos. but does this make the image bad? becuase i have met many people who dislike the logo itself.

another thing to point out, is should we be scared that our government organisations are using this symbol, eg english mi5: MI5 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (logo on the right)
conspiricy theorists would say yes, but im not so sure.
(oviously im not litterlly scared of a pattern, but is it to be used as a pointer or sign?)

With most symbols it depends on the eyes and the heart of the viewer. God gave us the rainbow as a promise I see it that way. The homosexual agenda sees it a a symbol of their corrupt organization.
The five pointed star was never really given any dark significance until the 1960's when Anton Levee penned the infamous satanic bible. Even the swastika was considered a good luck sign in may ancient cultures but look what the Nazi's did to that.
