Most of us would guess all of them happened in the modern age,
or , otherwise, at least happened after the Middle Ages,
which was supposed to be the "Dark Ages" - full of superstitions and ignorance.


Well, that's NONSENSE as Professor Rodney Stark says, who authored the book "The Victory of Reason: How Christianity led to Freedom, Capitalism and Western Success". The book showed that the notion that "the Middle Ages was a period of superstitions and ignorance" was a HOAX. It also showed how, in the European past, Christianity brought the West out of darkness / chaos and into greatness and success.


The answer is a BIG surprise for those who think the Middle Ages is the "Dark Ages". In fact, all of the above achievements happened during the Middle Ages.

i guess that making us think that it was all mythical ect removes the idea that the dragon slayers Saint George and the Dragon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
which are documented a lot is just a myth,
and not in fact documented dinosaurs living with humans (not millions of years ago)

The dark ages my friend were dark indeed. While some small progress was made for the most part it was a long period of stagnation. From a spiritual stand point one cannot say that the "dark ages" really ended until the Word of God was made available to the common man.

Dinosaurs did live with man as documented not in myth but in the book of Job- this is trustworthy as it is the Word of God. As far as the rest who can say.

When was universities born ? The "Dark Ages".
When was the mechanical clock invented ? The "Dark Ages".
When was Western science born? The "Dark Ages" , inspired by Christian theology.
When was printing press invented ? The "Dark Ages".
When was the beautiful Gothic architecture invented ? The "Dark Ages".
When was "Summa Theologica" written ? The "Dark Ages".
When did stained glass windows first appear in Europe ? The "Dark Ages".
etc...

Oh !!! But how could you call it The Dark Ages if there were so many achievements ???
Well, such prejudice was spread by anti-Christian scholars in the 18th century, as Prof Rodney Clark said in his book "The Victory of Reason: How Christianity led to Freedom, Capitalism and Western Success".



If we don't read the following books, we are unfair to the Middle Ages -

Now, I understand more of what you mean.

Children in a family needs to be protected from evil influences. As result, there will be a balance between freedom and protection. A society is the same.

The most important goals of mankind is to know God and the Truth, to seek eternal salvation and to have a healthy family.

What we need is the rights and freedom to do all these things.
Now, in the Middle Ages, these freedom and rights are fully protected, although there is no freedom and rights to spread heresies or do damage to others' souls. So that's excellent.

But in the Modern age, there are all sorts of freedom and rights, but , wait, there are also the rights and freedom to spread heresies, lies and do damage to others' souls. Today, there is huge confusion in the intellectual and spiritual spheres. In the religious sphere alone, religions are like a supermarket, it is so confusing. Besides, there is also high rates of suicides, family break downs, robberies, rapes, drugs, murders, gun massacres, domestic violence, etc.

So, which era is better ?

Therefore, personally, I think the Middle Ages is NOT the Dark Ages.
