Default Why did God choose...

to make his ministry in middle east for his ministries? I have always wondered that. I wonder what was going on in the other part of the world. Anyone have any verses?

isnt that where life (or atleast noah) started living? guess that makes it important.

the tower of babel spread everyone out from that point, so maybe it was the centre of the world at the time?

I don't mean to belittle the Jewish people, but I've always wondered why God chose them over other nations. What was so special about them--especially since He knew they would worship false gods, disobey His commandments, and reject His Son?

maybe if what you say is true,
he picked them as an example to us, the bible would be worth less to us if it didnt show other peoples mistakes, to learn by

also, i dont think other nations may have been any better. Im sure he would have known how everyone would react and made the best decision.

and they needed to reject his son, just like how Jesus knew all along that Judas would betray him.

Every Story in the Bible has a hero. Noah, Moses, Abraham, Daniel, David, Samson, Joesph, Solomon, etc etc.

But what do all these men have in common? They ALL had trials and tribulations and were tested by God.

Why did God choose the nation of Israel? What country in the entire world is most hated? Of couse 'Israel'

I believe God chose this nation because it will bring the most honor to God when all is done and over. The nation that was hated, the land that was turned over to idols. In the end, God's glory will reign over it.

What land has the most prophecy? Of course Israel

"In the beginning was the Word and the Was was with God and the Word was God." If prophecy was about Israel from the beginning, then it's the land that will be played out until His reign during the 1000 Kingdom Years.

If the bible tells us anything about who God chooses to use, it would seem that He picked the Jewish people not because they were "better" than the rest, it was probably the opposite. In all actuality it could be where the Garden of Eden actually was before the flood. There is nothing writen that says why He chose that particular place in the world.

That's a good question. I guess to me it makes sense in that it is at the crossroads of the eastern hemisphere; part of Asia and close to Africa and Europe. It's a perfect location for spreading a message East, West, North and South.

But I guess its all speculation...God didn't reveal exactly why.

God always seems to delight in using the least likely and least capable to carry out His plans. He would not even fulfill His promise through Abraham and Sarah until it was beyond their physical abilities to do so. In fact their efforts to fulfill God's promise resulted in Ishmael and the world has been paying the price in blood ever since.

We know that God created the Garden of Eden in the middle east and we know that all people started out from this area.
The time scale also shows that probably the majority of people hadnt travelled that far much before a few thousand years before the birth of Christ.
I think it shows that the time man has been on earth is much less that scientists would have us believe, and to me that is so exciting.
I also like Larry (Boanerges) explanation, about God using the least likely, He does, those who in the worlds eyes are nothing, amazing.
