Default Rapture example???

Is the story of Lot a story with a lot of parallels to the rapture, or can it be considered a picture of things to come concerning gods wrath and judgement?

I can see how you have come to the conclusions that you have.
If I'm not mistaken, Lot's daughters and their children formed a people. I can't think of their name off hand. These people were called "the enemies of the Isralis".

If I'm not mistaken they were the Moabs.

I was talking about Abrahams conversation with God and the fact that if there were any believers left that He would not bring His Holy wrath upon the cities.

I think that this long conversation supports the idea that we will be raptured before The Great Tribulation. God said to Abraham that He would not judge the righteous with the wicked, so God sent His angel to remove the true believers from the city before it's destruction.

I believe this is an old testament picture of Gods grace to His church before The Great Tribulation.

I did have it wrong.
The only question I have is: Who is righteous?
We all fall short of the glory of God.

Well, in the story Lot and his family were the only ones removed fro mthe city. So they would represent the righteous. We can tell by the story that they were not strong believers in God but apparently enough to be spared from the cities impending doom.

Jesus will remove his church from the world prior to Gods judgement in The Great Tribulation. At least that's what I believe and iwas thinking that this story reflects the heart of God and his willingness to remove His own before Wrath is unleashed.

Very interesting thought, Kris.

I don't know the answer. It's not stated clearly in Scripture, but your analogy makes sense. I hope you're right.
