DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR & LIE
I met this guy while I was in Albuquerque and he has
A motto he lives by everyday. He said listen carefully and
Live by these 4 rules: Drink, Steal, Swear, & Lie.


I was shaking my head 'no', but he then told me to listen
While he explained his four rules. So here they are:


1.. "Drink" from the "everlasting cup" every day.

2.. "Steal" a moment to help someone that
Is in worse shape than you are.

3.. "Swear" that you will be a better
Person today than yesterday.

4.. And last, but not least, when you "lie" down at night
Thank God you live in America and have freedom.

I am not as good as I should be, I am not as good
As I could be. But THANK GOD
I am better than I used to be!

By who's standards are you to measure the last statement?

I guess mine and God's standards cause hopefully I am growing in the Lord every day.Yesterday, I am not the same as today. and last year I am not the same as this year. Praise God .

The closer we get to God the more we become to realize how much more we need a savior. Our opinion of our self does not improve, or it's not suppose too.

Kris ... I understand what you are saying. But if in my self if I am improving in my walk with the Lord and others notice my growth as well., is that not improvement ? Yes of course I get closer to Him day by day and that is part and parcle of my self improvement. I can see the difference so why can I not be opinionated ? I know what you are saying : He should increase but I should decrease." Yes I need Him every day and every moment of the day. And yes I depend upon Him more and more . I am strengthened in my Faith. That's all I am saying and maybe I am not making myself too clear. Sorry. Sometimes it is hard to express exactly what I mean.

You expressed it just fine, IMO.

Who am I

my opinion of myself has improved greatly. It was suppose to and had to. It couldn’t go the other way much more.

Back in June, 1993, I was asked to write down everything that I thought was good about me.
I wrote down, “I love animals”.
That was it. That’s all I could think of, and I spend a few days thinking about it.
I was in pretty bad shape, so yes… my opinion of myself did improve. I hope it continues to improve. If I don’t think my opinion of myself could improve, I’ve probably got a pride problem. I’ll never be perfect, but I can always strive for perfection.
