I am a moderator at a videogame forum. It's a very civil forum in that flaming attacks and general disrespect is not tolerated. I also am a member at two auto-related forums. One is a forum run by older mechanics who desire a civil place to hang out and chat. The other is an import forum that a buddy of mine talked me into joining. It's a bit on the liberal side, but all the "questionable" content is confined to a subforum, which is nice because I have no interest in going there.

My opinion on forums is the same as in day-to-day life. Be in the world, but not of it. People often respect you for clinging to your integrity in representing your faith. And of course there will always be the mockers and slanderers of the Truth we have in Christ. There will also be places and forums that we as believers in Christ have no business being a part of...

Well, it's good to know there are actually some civil non-Christian forums out there!

I was in one until I got an e-mail from a moderator telling me not to "talk religion".

Lol.

I never had problems with my talking about God. No body really bothered me because I was a "Christian". People still liked me even if I had "Got a problem with me loving Christ?" in my sig.

Of course, I ran into those anatagonists who'll find any random moment to diss God. Those are the only people who get on my nervous. Grrr....

Wow. That's pretty harsh. Especially when Christ is present in all areas of our lives, leading us, teaching us, guiding us, lighting our way. He's always applicable.

If I may, I'd like to post a link to an interesting thread in the videogme forum. If anything, it shows how Christianity can be represented in an arena where from the outside it looks completely secular.

If it's not alowed, I apologize up front and understand if the moderators delete the link. I'm not intending to do anything other than show how a discussion between believers and nonbelievers can happen when respect is given to both sides.

I was in a forum about saltwater reef tanks (my hobby). As long as the subject was on that everything was fine but sadly the rest was filth and argumentativeness.
