I miss not being able to go there for doggie info though!
Oh my goodness.
That must have been deliberatly done. I can't believe some of the crazy things people will do.

I am a member of a few support forums (mainly technical). That is my only secular forum membership.

I joined one other religion forum, just to see what they would talk about on their own forum among the same type of people. It was hard to blend in, since I wasn't the "sarcastic, make fun of Christians" type. I eventually left.

I did join when video game forum, one based off the video game "Kingdom Hearts". I still like the game, but I'm not a crazy fan-girl and I eventually got bored.

Most of the time, you either get 1) bored with the forum 2) the place gets shut down 3) you just get tired of the people 4) for other reasons.

I use to troll the Yahoo Christian Chat channels looking for conversation. That christian chat room is not monitored and is usually full of people reveling in their sin and flaunting it profusely /shivers. I logged in for a long time trying to seek out fellow believers that were true believers but I found very few actual believers and thousands of aggressive antagonists bashing anyone who believed anything except a lie. Anyone that spoke anything about God or christ in the christian chat rooms were ridiculed and spammed to death by the horde of non believers and antagonists in the rooms.

It's an experience that I will never endure again since I found this forum.

Oh, yes, I have heard of the infamous Yahoo Christian Chat.

We did have our last anti-Christ attack in Jan-Feb. I really don't understand the whole point of attacking the forums. They really waste their time, they must think we're stupid or something. The staff gets it done pretty quickly - I'm just waiting for the next one.

I enjoyed Kingdom Hearts, but I would agree that there is too much obsession with it. I joined a forum for it some time back, but I prefer to frequent forums that have more general subjects. Still, you are right, and it's especially frustrating when the forumers you got to know start leaving too... that has happened sometimes, so I felt compelled to leave those forums.

I voted "used to be."

I used to be on several music forums. I was the admin/moderator for a forum and listserv for a certain band (which was my favorite at the time.)

I do read several cooking/recipe forums, but those aren't really communities like we're talking about here.

I'm on two Christian forums- CFS and the Catholic Answers Forum. I have nothing against secular forums, but none of them can really hold my interest these days.

I'm registered on one of our local ukrainian forums. Actually, the main aim is to tell the Good News to the other members .

I agree with you.

Kingdom Hearts is a good game, but it's not the greatest game in the world. When I got "bored" with the game, the people on the forums gave me bad reputation just because I was "bored" with the game. I did join in several conversations on the game, but I wasn't extremely crazed about it.

Ugh, I hated it when all my friends left. It seemed like the forum was made up of newbies who didn't even stay 2 months. All the veterans left or just ceased to exist...lol.
