Holy Spirit guidance

When you feel moved by the Holy Spirit, is it always through emotions?

Most of the time God uses me to do something, I am totally unaware until later. I expect when I get to heaven to be amazed by all the things God has done despite my shortcomings.

I generally get a specific feeling that I have come to realize is God speaking. I also have dreams that wouldn't make sense to anyone else, but are very clear messages to me. After I had the first dream that I KNEW was God, I have never had a dream again except when God is trying to tell me something.

It's funny because I used to have nightmares if I got too warm at night and ever since that 1st dream I have not had a nightmare either.

I'm wondering, does anyone else have dreams like that who is not afraid to talk about it? I generally don't tell people because I'm sure they'll think I'm nuts.

lots of people,s have dreams,very few can understand them.

No. Emotions can play a part, but they can also lead us astray. We often tell ourselves what we want to hear, and we can be impetuous, self-deceptive and self-indulgent...So generally speaking, I don't advise using your emotions to gauge the work of the Holy Spirit.

That's right Ginger. That is why the Lord gives us discernment.

I've never had a dream that I knew was from God. I can think of maybe a few times where I've had an insight about a situation or a person that came to me in a flash, so clear and perfectly realized that I knew it was from God. But that's only happened in such a dramatic way maybe twice, or 3 times, in my whole life.

The Holy Spirit speaks to your inner man and imparts truth by revealtion. He is to be involved in every aspect of your walk- as many as are led by the Spirit of God these are the Sons of God. It is a deep knowledge that bypasses thought and goes straight to knowing. Below is an article I posted a while back that might (or might not be_ relevant.

Holy Spirit judges the thoughts and attitudes of our heart. He brings the message of life to our hearts and has the power to provoke change in our lives.
