Default Any Christian vegetarians here?

Has anyone here been called to be good stewards of His creation by adopting the diet of Eden?

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Genesis 1:29, KJV

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Isaiah 11:6-9, KJV

I am not a total vegetarian, but I veer in that direction.
However I think it is important to remember that we have to respect what our Brethren choose, veggie or not, and not get offended over it.

Oh lol, I could NEVER stop eating healthy!! However, I NEVER EVER eat beef or pork, and I could never eat a lamb either; that's just wrong. But I ALWAYS eat broiled salmon, roasted white-meat turkey, shrimp steamed in olive-oil, and grilled chicken-breast. But yeah, I mean, eating fresh, raw-vegetables is ALWAYS the best snack.

I agree. This thread is not meant as a condemnation of meat-eating. A lot of people have the pre-conception of vegetarians as left-wing secularists. I just wanted to see who else has felt that God has called them to serve Him and His creation in this way from a Biblical, not secular, worldview. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, veggie and omnivore alike.

For the most part, everything I eat, eats vegetables.
So in a way, I am a vegitarian. (By osmosis)

I have never considered being a vegetarian as being something God has called us to be. And I have not read the scriptures you quoted at all. It's interesting.

However, I've always preferred fruits and veggies to meat. I only eat meat because I am diabetic and try to eat balanced meals. Maybe I could substitute certain veggies for protein though, like beans, cheese and what else? You obviously know more than me. And, you are obviously skinnier than I am. Yes? I need skinnier. So, how about it? Is staying away from meat because I really don't enjoy eating it so bad for diabetics? Any suggestions?

I used to eat a lot of meat, but I've adopted the veggie and less-meat diet. I wouldn't consider myself a vegetarian, but my grandmother has been vegetarian for 40 years.

We usually get organic veggies though, since the regular ones are full of pesticides, and she's had breast cancer, and those pesticides are not good for anyone.

We're probably going to start growing our own vegetables, just so we can have organic foods in our backyard!

I prefer beef over chicken and I rarely eat turkey, to dry for me . I'm not a big fan of fish, I used to eat shrimp but for some reason I could taste the ocean really well. O_o

But those are the only meats I eat. Don't put a rabbit or duck or a horse in front of me. LOL.
